Not sure how many deltas gym holds but it has a standing room rail type thing around the top. That was also packed do not think our last couple basketball crowds would have filled it Delta's gym capacity listed at 4,800.

The Greeks essentially boycotted football this year because of the new tailgating rules that were implemented. They felt the school directly targeted them. I got that directly from a frat member. Tailgate rules hurt football, go to a football game at Purdue and other major schools, fans set up for tailgate parties early in the morning, even the night before. They even have big screen TVs and generators. They go to the game and come back at halftime, you can’t leave Shuman during the game and get back in. Can’t bring a chair back seat. Man, the hate their fans. at basketball games they make the average fan like me park at the far end of the large lot by the duck pond and walk past hundreds of spaces closer to the arena with no cars! When I went to the ND game last year we parked close to the front door and paid $0, that’s zero dollars to park. Nobody directing traffic. The arena was full. Ball State gets you pissed before you even get into the arena. In both cases, Ball State is very fan unfriendly. It makes you not want to go to the game. I can get it on tv, no hassle, though I’d rather go to the game. They need to stop insulting the fans. This from an alum and fan who has been going to games since 1972!

Man you are exactly right with the parking and ND experience.. Toledo parking was free and also no hassle. If your older or have small children that walk is brutal during the winter. I do not even mind paying the five bucks but having to walk by the 3 other half empty lots pisses me off.

Ditto on empty parking. Should have smaller gold lot at least make 1/2 that empty space available, some less desirable reserved, let that be empty...

Just FYI guys, you can park on the neighborhood streets north of Worthen for free and it's probably closer, certainly not farther. Also easier to get in and get out.

General I love ya, but try to get more fans than a bad high school team to show at Worthen once before ya try to beat on us anymore. FYI - The type of administrators that BSU employs have absolutely no idea what to do with BSU basketball, and it should therefore be eliminated, or somehow drastically reduced in cost. BSU basketball is realistically hopeless, while BSU football is absolutely hopeless.

The performance of the new AD will be crucial to the future of both programs. I have no idea of what her attitude is about either program. Unless something drastic happens our football fate will be written by the power conferences. Our basketball future will be determined by the power brokers and the money people in Muncie.

The AD has now been here the better part of a year. I think if she was going to do the sort of things that would make a significant difference, we would have seen SOME sign by now. She would have at least said a few things that scared the shit out of the business-as-usual, keep-shoveling-in-the-student's-money crowd. Not that this is in any way surprising. She would never have been hired if she had showed signs of facing up to the situation with cold, clear honesty.

Right. So the relevant debates will be around vital, game-changing things like "should the frats be allowed to play loud music during tailgating?" and " should we reduce Worthens gold parking lot by 50%?" The AD could make earth-shaking decisions on these things.

Athletics not a BSU priority. More with Mearns.

Athletics not a BSU priority. More with Mearns. Why would athletics need to be a priority to implement simple commonsense changes ? The issue likely is there is some kind of disconnect between Facilities Management and the Athletics Department. I doubt the idiot administrator making the parking decisions has any idea how screwed-up it is. Isn't this the same dimwit who out-of-the-blue decided to alter the tail gate schedule, mid season, a couple of years ago.

When things are decided by committee there is little to no accountability, which I suppose is all part of the master plan.

From what I’ve heard facilities management and athletics are not remotely on the same page. Rec facilities manages athletics facilities and coaches get frustrated with priorities and lack of responsiveness. Some really goofy decisions have been made.
