Hypothetical for the group: Would you rather have Dan Dakich or Ronnie Thompson as coach at BSU? Or maybe option three: get kicked in the nuts every day for a year by Adam Vinatieri. Easy, Thompson only stays around for a single season before he resigns. He did influence the program negatively for more than a year though. Without any redeeming plus.
Dakich would be amusing and we would have removed him from our radio and TV, contributing to the country's pleasure for the duration of his contract. Perhaps create true unity and camaraderie on our forum.

Dakich still blames those results on injuries to his best players every year. Seeing this Dakich comment prompts me to tell a quick story about him that just happen this past week. I was on FB and a friend posted that Dakich would be calling the TSIB NIT game and he said like him on not it was just an FYI for everyone. I responded not a fan "Dickich" and never understood why he's always ragging on Ray? Believe it not Dakich responded to my post and said "McCallum almost ruined IU basketball is why" I responded "how"? But he never responded. What is this guys issue with Ray?

We beat him to Lonnie and Lonnie was HIS territory. As far as the Iu thing, dakich has insinuated that Ray (and Senderoff) either committed violations or looked the other way or enabled poor player behavior.

Take a look at Ray's results in the MAC compared to Dakich's and imagine the effect on the Dakich ego.

I did not understand the reference to ruining IU basketball, never thought about that. What did halftime refer to?

This is a very confusing conversation for someone who doesn't have the institutional memory that the rest of the board has.
As my classmates and I used to say when preparing for exams "explain this to me like I'm a 2 year old."

Ray was an assistant at iu when dakich took over for Sampson. Dakich insinuates Ray was dirty or didn’t hold players accountable.

Still waiting anxiously for the OGara/Whitford story and the big reveal as to what will be the Official 2018-19 Excuse.
No doubt, multiple excuses will be mentioned and I will determine which is the primary excuse by leveraging some highly sophisticated text analysis methods that are way, way, WAY too complicated to explain to you goobers.
We know that Goetz has already tipped off one angle to be used: Things were wonderful with the program before a "four month swing". It happens that this "four month swing" coincided with something we might call "the basketball season". But we don't want to get all bent out of shape over a "four month swing" when, prior to that, Whitford had the program blazing along at an incredible rate of 0.2 MAC tourney wins per year.
I'm betting that some variation of the "four month swing" will be used by Whitford also.

You and Whitford do love your metrics.

The article wasn’t that much. Whit did take the blame, including for not changing the defense to improve the pace. And, surprise surprise, guys didn’t shoot as well as expected. But all the newcomers next year are of course good shooters, ya know.

That Sampson thing was the last straw for me and IU basketball. Bad enough to see Davis and his total dumbness take over. Just a stupid move by AD. But. They might have recovered. Then. Double stupid. I was long gone. Peegs sold out, was now just a shill. IU administration rivaled BSU hiring Ronnie. They hired a cheater. Surprise, he cheated. Surprise, he had no clue why not. Ray was a part of the staff, I guess. Guilty by association? But this was not Ray's show.

Well, jeez, no excuses at all.
That's the first time I've been wrong about something in a while...I think the last time was around 2005 or so.
