Ball State’s returning OL has 9th most starts in FBS with109.
I’m trying to look on the bright side.

They are IMO the most important unit year in and out!

I have heard from two different people that the oline is looking good. Anthony Todd moving to center and all players really love the new oline coach

Todd moved to center? Wow. Johnson is a former bsu olineman. He loves bsu like Neu does.

If we don't have the ''big uglies'' up front on both sides of the ball we will be in DEEP do do.

Returning players are only helpful if they are actually good

True, it's great if they were good players before!
Returning players often are better, though, bigger, stronger, more mature, learned from mistakes and so on.
So how good are they is a question of both how good they were and how much they improved.
Maybe a new coach will help, staff find a way to use them better.
But I agree we cannot count OL as a huge plus just on experience.

I will believe we are improved & that the coaches learned something if we average over 5 yds per run and/or top 200 on the ground against IU. Plus run more than pass.

You truly think we can run for over 200 yards vs IU? That’s not even realistic.

You truly think we can run for over 200 yards vs IU? That’s not even realistic. They are more athletic, bigger, faster. So. Guess it will have to be vast improvement in execution... That's a lot of improvement to imagine. I guess I agree we aren't going to beat them in an offensive shoot out. Better keep their offense off the field.

I am trying to be optimistic for now and all I want is some short of shot at it in the 4th

Yeah it could be over by halftime. Our d ain’t stopping their monster running back. And they have a new, more aggressive OC.

cardfan we did both last yr & still got killed (Rushing 204 yds avg per rush 5.2)So I don't think IU is any better than a yr ago. I did not say we would win the game but think we will run the ball.

I believe we had a late junk run that went for a bunch of yards that padded those stats but I could be wrong
