David, aren't you in Goshen? If you are, you need to go to Dan Dino's or Hoppers or Oasis and buy yourself the biggest drink you like and sip on that bad boy for a while and REALLY ENJOY THIS. A completely unexpected win. It is a wonderful thing. I am so happy for the team. They stuck with this staff and the negative nebobs calling for Neu's head and now this. For the first time in a long time I am extremely proud of these kids. Sounds like a capital idea!

That depends does the AD need to see improvement or does she want to see us being a serious contender. I do not think we are title contenders. I also have go be honest and say despite getting in our own way we are improved. You can also tell this team is playing together and seem to have really bought into the staff. I do not think this win is enough by its self but a couple more will help him greatly Yesterday’s win was a big step forward and hats off to the defense and the DB’s but it was a team win. Oline opened up some nice holes for Huntley etc. They hopefully capitalize on the momentum when they go to EMU who I suspect will be amped up after a beat down by CMU.

AD would have to be happy with improvement and a win like this where it was winnable but we were underdogs is important. FAU was a disappointment, this almost makes up for it, but we need to play well at home, we do have games that are winnable. I have no gripe about being road warriors, sweet wins, and we may need to find another road win. But we need to win at home and avoid sending the fans away really bummed. Another upset somewhere and we may go into the last 2 weeks of the season with something to play for.

Sagarin ratings aren't kind to us. We'll be about a TD underdog most of the way, except Central.
But there are enough close games in there we will have 4 or 5 games that are winnable. There are rating systems and projections out there where we are about even or favored narrowly in as many as 5 games.

I think I agree with Bigfoot that EMU will be motivated after their loss and will be a tough out. Hard for us to get back focused after a win.
We have no experience winning, this is a problem...
It's not completely clear how we are going to react if we lose a few, either, although this team seems much more together mentally than last year.

I agree that next week will be a huge test mentally for these guys. Good enough to win it, but what will be in their heads early on? A let down is certainly possible.

We beat Western Michigan last year. I see no reason why we can’t beat them again this year.

We beat Western Michigan last year. I see no reason why we can’t beat them again this year. Because they didn’t have Wassink last year.

We won in a shootout last year. Offense wasn’t WMU’s problem last year, and it’s not their problem this year. We will be underdogs in that one, but I’m not penciling in an L right now.

We can beat them but the defense will have to be really good against that offense. But we should be able to score on them.

Not to overlook EMU and beat a dead horse, but Western is averaging 11% more total offense this year vs. 2018.
Statistically, our 2019 vaunted defense should make this a dead heat....or......(see above).
