FootballScoop reporting Hernandez is leaving for a high school AD position:
"Ball State: Associate athletics director for sports and alumni relations Joe Hernandez, who has spent the past 34 years with Ball State, has decided to take the athletic director position at Lafayette Jefferson HS (IN)".

Maybe time to move on. He has been a consistency in an ever changing administration.

Maybe encouraged to find another job? I don't think he meshed well with the new AD. After PQ retired, Joe was the last of the "old guard". Plus, he's had some personal stuff that I won't go into, but I think he's looking for a fresh start in a new town.

May like being his own boss. Going back many years our staff had a lot of independence, and the new regime wants more accountability, reporting and team effort. PQ being gone may be a factor, with his moving on, there is organizational change kicking in.

They are definitely trying to tighten things up and get more production from everybody. I’m sure others will be asked to do more as jobs are squeezed.

Isn't Peyton Stovall the AD at Jeff? or did I miss his leaving?

Isn't Peyton Stovall the AD at Jeff? or did I miss his leaving? I thought so too, but a quick web search tells me he is now Purdue's assistant athletics director for student-athlete development as of July 1, 2019. Congrats to Peyton.
