Mike nor Whitford have really done anything to really try and embrace anyone outside of the school or the program. The difference between them at least in my experiences is that Neu is just easier to talk too. Whit is not or has not ever been rude or anything like that but my limited short conversations have always seemed backwards and awkward. If you did not know that thats just the way he is you would really think he was a jerk

It can’t help him in recruiting that he’s so dispassionate and reserved.

Calling BS....you ask why it’s STILL a problem and I’d submit it isn’t as Teague arguably is best in the MAC which suggests to that he has indeed developed?!

Most have recognized Teague as the most talented player on the team since the beginning. Unfortunately, our esteemed coach didn’t know how to harness that athleticism into anything meaningful for....what....4 years? He was even surrounded by a decent big man and a talented guard for two of those years.
I would hesitate to say Whitford was “responsible” for any Teague development.

Through 3 conference games, Taj is 12th in scoring, 6th in rebounding, 8th in FG%, 2nd in Blocks and 5th in steals. He has played well and pretty consistently. The supporting cast (other than Ish) needs to get back on track tonight.

Especially as teams game plan against him.
The good news is he's playing defense, rebounding and not fouling excessively. Hard to take that away.

I agree with you except on your statement about Neu being engaged. He is all about football and that team. He is not engaged with the community or campus. You're probably right. My statement was more perception than reality and I should have said Neu appears "to me" to be more engaging ... I can picture Neu glad-handing potential donors, chatting them up about glory days and MAC Championships, homecoming comebacks. Dropping names like Drew Brees, Willie Snead, Sean Payton. But maybe he doesn't do any of that. Maybe Whitford does more of that but he does appear very reclusive and uncommunicative. No, Whitford actually does none of it.
