So far so good in the battle of two teams not shooting well. Long as we keep it going and win.

Not a great game, but nice to have an 18 point lead! Hopefully we keep playing good defense and the offense lights it up. Feel like the game is in slow motion.

00hmh made mention of it in the Akron thread......Our Achilles heal has been that conference teams have the historical knowledge of each team’s players and the pre-conference game films to study and prepare game plans that have targeted our strengths and weaknesses. The last couple of years the Cardinals have had difficulty overcoming an opponent with good pre-game preparation. All teams have the problem. I was mostly concerned about our newcomers, especially freshmen.
The freshmen haven't seen it before and are often more severely impacted. Nothing like conference play.
These guys have something to learn about the intensity required. They have the potential to improve but can be knocked back on their heels and stalled.

So if Teague and Hazen both get into foul trouble will Whitford play Hendriks/Huggins or try and guard Toure with Acree? I betting on Acree since Whitford doesn't seem to realize he has more than 8 players on his team.

Teague continues to play big and that drives us.

Why is it always Acree shooting the 3-point shot instead of Ish, Mallers, or Bum?

Cards outscored 21-8 in the second half. Need to play better defense and more aggressive on offense and hit some shots. The home team will always make a run. Need to stop it now.
Go Cards!

If I were the AD and we lose this game, I’d fire Whit on the spot!

If I were the AD and we lose this game, I’d fire Whit on the spot! I had that very thought. But we’ve recovered for the time being.

Hard for EMU to play their preferred zone defense against a lead when the clock starts to wind down. They picked up the pace well starting the second half.

If I were the AD and we lose this game, I’d fire Whit on the spot! That is a level of pessimism that is very BSUish.
