Yea we won & I will stop there. Only good thing about it. We were horrible in the second half. Luckily we were up 20 I stead of 10-15 when the totally crap show started.

Has anyone ever seen a violin in a college basketball pep band before?
Still on the band subject, I think our pep band has been outstanding this season. Someone earler mentioned they felt the fans have been more into the games this year. I'm not sure about the fans, but the pep band has been. They themselves have made it feel like the fans are more into the games. Three cheers for our pep band.

Thats was a some terrible basketball especially in the second half.. Just a totally disjointed slopfest. Colemam was horrible tonight he got the Hot seat right next to Whit and received an earful for about 10 minutes. Just have to clean that stuff up against any good team we take the L in that game

WMU shot over 63% from three point range and we gave up 12 turnovers in the secon half. Thank God we had a 25 point lead before it all went to hell.

I have more important things to discuss.. All year I have went to the concession stand and made my order before each game. Diet pepsi, Water, Gatorade, popcorn and a candy for each kid. 16 dollars but I have never looked to see what each item costs. First off tonight the same order cost me 17 dollars I did not question it just paid and kept moving. For some reason we ate more popcorn than normal this evening and everyone wanted some more.. So I hand my son three bucks the change from my 20 and tell him go get us another box of popcorn. He commes back and says three dollars is not enough.. 4 damn dollars for a small box of popcorn what do they think they are cinema 8. I cant even butter up my popcorn with that warm melted movie theater popcorn.. I feel raped

Concessions are such a huge scam and it goes way beyond the prices of the products.
Aren't most of those concessions booths manned by high school kids and their parents who are doing it to earn a few hundred bucks for whatever organization they're in?
So the folks running the concessions are not only raping fans on the price, but they're also doing it with slave labor instead of actually having to hire people to man the booths.
I mean the kids/parents/organizations love it because fund-raising is a bitch and it's easy cash for a few hours of work, but the folks running the concessions are making out like bandits.

I recall stories on here about BSU saving boxed popcorn for the next game. Made me think twice about ever getting popcorn at a concession stand again.

The second half was the worst half of basketball by both teams and refs that I can ever remember witnessing in my entire life.

Captive venues (transportation, sporting events, theaters, concerts) where they can limit and restrict your access to free enterprise options have gone out of their way to create additional and lucrative revenue streams. I’m convinced that movie theater concessions was the model they all studied before implementing these fairly recent add-ones. Convenience Fees, luggage fees, $10 beer, parking, restaurants, etc. are being used to take a low margin business model and enable it to look moderately successful.

It always amazes me that ANYONE pays the prices that concessions stands charge. Except maybe rich people with money to burn. It's pretty easy to time your eating/drinking so as to eliminate the need for buying anything at a game.

The second half was the worst half of basketball by both teams and refs that I can ever remember witnessing in my entire life. I kinda liked the part where Hawkins benched his starters, though.
The starters showed in the first 22 minutes of the game why they are a bad team this year despite a couple of very talented players. So, it was fun to see the WMU bench play with so much more intensity by contrast. That is even though I don't like Hawkins and his style of promoting hacking, grabbing, pushing, defense with accompanying whining when a foul is called. Resembles the way I managed to get on the court occasionally I admit, but It is always an ugly basketball game against his WMU teams.
Oh, and I also liked how Josh, Acree, Hazen and even Thomas played with some energy.
Overall an ugly ugly game. Teams seemed downright nasty to each other. Also a WMU trademark. BTW, thanks for mentioning the refs, they alternated between some phantom calls and letting the game get out of hand.

When Hawkins yanked all 5 starters at once I thought, uh oh, this game is about to get ugly, and it did. Exactly what Hawkins wanted. And we responded poorly and immaturely.

I recall stories on here about BSU saving boxed popcorn for the next game. Made me think twice about ever getting popcorn at a concession stand again. Just go into the media room. Most of the time it's totally empty.
