We cannot guard physical 5’s. We grab and hold and never try to deny the post. You cannot allow guys with size establish position and we consistently do that. This is heading to a very bad loss as this was winnable.

I'm so sick of watching this team yell at and whine to the refs non-stop. Grow up. Leave that stuff to your coach.

A very disappointing loss to the Rockets in Toledo. The Cards failed to shoot well from the three when open, failed to hit the freebies near game's end, and just seemed to lack energy and focus for the entire game. Yet they had opportunities to get a win anyway. Hopefully they play better on Senior night Tuesday.
Go Cards!

You can’t win when your best player and another starter are no shows.

Bad outside shooting, feels like 2017-18 type of conference season.

An observation then a question. Why would you leave Teague in the game with 50 seconds left, down 4, on defense, assuming you will be aggressive and foul? You can reinsert him when they go to the line. Ten seconds later, you do the same thing with Mallers. Now the question. I assume Whitford doesn’t comprehend/recognize this. Do the assistants not apprise him of the situation, or do they, and he just overrules or ignores them? Any thoughts?

Looking back, was Teague's lack of real scoring started after his fifth player of the week award? Seems he has been off for four or five games, at least in scoring. Playing Western on Tuesday, he had some great passes to open shooters. Unfortunately he wasn't in the game long enough to get going looking for his team mates. And they weren't hitting as well.
Whitford commented in the post game radio interview about the discrepancy in free throws and one could tell he wasn't thrilled with the officials. Watching games on TV from different leagues, there are so many stoppages in MAC games compared to other conferences, especially the big ones.
Go Cards!

The disparity in free throws is that Toledo was feeding the post. The officiating was bad both ways but always the more physical team will establish the way the game is called. We cannot guard the post so we will get punished when we play teams that can play inside out. It is that simple!

Looked at last 8 games for Teague: Comparing previous 4 to last 4 games FGA’s 51 - 32 FTA’s 24 - 9 Points 58 - 32 REB’s 37 - 36 Teague is rebounding ok, but his offensive contribution has really tailed off the last 4 games.

He either got too concerned with trying to win POY, or he lost his motor. Either way he’s not been the same. He’s playing frustrated on offense and hasn’t really been involved. If he can’t get his positive aggression back we’re dead in the water.
This loss was whit predictable.

So what happens if the division leaders both lose to the 11th & 12th place clubs today? It to me shows no MAC team is any good in the NCAA or any other tourney they play in.

NIU 69 WMU 72 so the 11th & 12th teams beat 1 & 2.

German only played 2nd half because he broke team rules. Anybody else would probably be gone.

Thanks to a Buffalo and NIU loss we have a chance to get a buy, need to win out - can we? Possibly.
