29 of 61 FGA were from 3, where we were hitting 20%. If we would have abandoned this successful tactic and taken a normal shot selection, things might have been different.
Mallers was somewhere about 3 of 4 in the first few minutes and only took 3 more shots. 🤔

Do we have a clue what a mid-range shot is? Or a post feed? A screen to get someone open?
And, if only we had a 6’10 kid on the bench who we could have maybe, I don’t know, made sure we found a couple minutes here or there every chance we could get to help him develop and acclimated to being on the floor for situations like today.

Didn't get to see today's game but looking at our schedule I see we finished February 5-4, which is similar to our 4-3 January record.
Not sure that constitutes a February swoon, but not a sign of a team that appears to be on the rise either.
Seems this team is about where I think a lot of us thought it would be at this time of year. The names are a little different (more PT from Bum and Coleman than I anticipated and less from Walton, Acree and Thomas), but the results are pretty similar. We appear to be upper middle in the MAC, capable but unlikely to beat the stronger East teams teams (Akron/BG) and capable of losing to virtually any team below.
Would love to see us get the chance to play much more than the next 3 games. I hope there's something left to see here, but I fear there is not. At this point everything just seems too familiar.

Looks like two teams at the top, two teams at the bottom, and eight teams in the middle, including the Cards. Do think Acree and Thomas have been playing good recently, especially Acree. Our biggest issue is that Teague is no longer playing like MAC Player of the year, sort of lost in space.

We are favorites against 6 teams, equal to 3 in that second tier, underdog to two teams. Not by all that much though.
Should be a wild tournament.

Yep, the Toledo Center Knapke goes off for 31 points and Teague only plays 18 minutes due to foul trouble. Think Whitford would have at least tried Huggins on Knapke? Just 2 or 3 minutes to see if he gets embarrassed. Heck, Knapke ends-up with 33 or 35 points instead of only 31, what's the difference? Year 3 of Huggins' development and he's not even worth the risk in a game like today's. Then you get articles like the following about how much a future Huggins and Hendriks have: www.thestarpress.com/story/sports/college/ball-state/2020/02/25/college-basketball-ball-state-centers-have-purpose-cardinals/4869705002/What a pile of crap.

I agree that Teague has become invisible and played himself out of POY. As soon as two weeks ago I thought he was a lock. I maybe would start Ace over Bum. Thomas is getting better. Like Boogie but has typical freshman inconsistency.

Teague is only a first team selection when playing inferior opponents. Realistically, he’s playing out of position for his size.
Watching him during time outs yesterday. He pays little to zero attention to what coaches are telling him.

That neither big guy got playing time is sad. Another break even year. They did not play bad, they just didn’t play well. Sounds familiar. Will we win the West? Feel we will beat Central, but can we beat Northern on their court? We have the ability to win, do we have the will to win? Lack of ass in the middle may be our demise!

This staff is not coaching, not recruiting, always has someone in the dog house because they cannot or will not follow team rules, attendance is lousy, no students show, they play terrible in the MAC tournament, but other than that they are in top 325 in the nation. I say give ole' Whit ANOTHER contract. Let's lock this guy up before Longwood steals him away. Could he be performing worse in any way? What does it take to lose your job in Muncie?...Apparently A LOT!!!!! My remedy, a bottle of W.L. Weller with vermouth and bitters, plenty of ice and an I don't give a F*** attitude. SIP SIP...I feel sooooooooooo much better.
