Is 4th the highest seed whit has achieved in 7 years? We can trumpet west division “championships” but ultimately they are meaningless if the best you can get out of it is a 4. The year we won a couple games in the abcit we were positioned as the 2 seed. That is Until the last couple weeks of course and the bottom fell out. Then Lost at home to really really bad Miami team in the first round after that. That may have been Whitford’s best team but it crashed and burned.

Friday will be interesting.
Win and you're booked for Cleveland. West Division champs. Momentum. Confidence. Break your road losing streak. All the above.
Lose and you come home. NIU wins the West. Opportunity lost. 5th seed. Road losing streak grows. Probably play CMU or Miami. Let down possible.

Reevo....lets look at a couple of facts, first, the MAC is ranked 12 out of 32 conferences which is closer to the top third than the bottom third, and secondly, while we have not finished as a 4th seed yet, I would see being in the top 4 as the top echelon of the conference.
BTW, If we would win at NIU and Buffalo would lose at BGSU I believe we would be a 3 seed.

The MAC has been ranked in the top 12 for years. I cannot remember a time when the MAC was below 12. I am not going to be jumping up and down and praising our coach by simply being a top 4 seed. Under Mr. Whitford, Ball State is 106-118 and has a MAC record of 51-75. His teams have finished 6th in the West twice, 5th in the west, 3rd in the West and tied for 1st in the West twice. I am sorry but this is a joke in my honest opinion. Instead of improving every year and setting up your program for a run of success, this guy coast on mediocrity year after year. I am sorry kid but we desperately need a change. Oh, let us not forget in Mr. Whitfords tenure, he has a MAC Tournament record of 2-6. How in the hell is this acceptable is my question?

I don't think you really responded to my simple points...you said we are simply a 4th or 5th seed in the MAC...I simply said the MAC is not so bad...12 out of 32...doesn't matter if we have been 12th for 40 years...point still stands, and we have a chance to be a 3rd to 5th seed, and I'm arguing that 3rd or 4th would be in the upper echelon this year of the conference.
Per both our earlier posts, I don't think your later posts relate
And, all this Reevo without a true post player.

We’re gonna need Tahjai to be that dominant player he was earlier in the MAC Season to beat NIU at their place. Gotta stay out of foul trouble. Wait, you mean to say he SHOULDN'T go barreling dick-long into 3 defenders in the paint just 30 seconds after picking up his third foul? The dude's got absolutely zero awareness or BBIQ when it comes to playing without fouling, and it's really the only thing holding him back from being a truly outstanding player

You should all take Kid's post very seriously because it illustrates how the excuse-makers and mediocrity-enablers think. And unfortunately this includes the BSU administration. Doesn't matter that Whitford has shown this to be his ceiling over 7 years, nor does it matter that a look at recruiting indicates flawed, unbalanced rosters for the foreseeable future.

No excuses made in my post at all...please be factual General.
I was simply talking about this season...if you want to talk about all 7 years that a different discussion.

This should be Ball State's version of rebuilding, not a consistent ebb and flow of mediocrity. Let me say the reason for our consistent mediocre play is in fact our lack of a true post player every year Whitford has been our coach. Not slamming you personally just making my case. We should be better than this and we should expect more then what we are getting.

The closest I could find was "Dick Hole," of the Rhode Island Rams.
