So, in looking at who we may have receive league honors next week, I’m now not as sure as I was a few weeks ago on who may get some recognition. Teague was at least in the conversation for high honors as recently as a month ago but he has fouled out of too many games recently which has hurt his chances. I think if we win the West he still has a shot at first team but if we don’t I think he drops down to second team. If that happens it will keep the streak alive of never having a first teamer in the Whitford era. I think El Amin is honorable mention at best. It’s a guard dominant league and with Justin Turner, LC Jackson, Mareon Jackson, Eugene German, Jayvon Graves and Jason Preston all ahead of him in scoring and on good teams I don’t see how he makes it. Coleman is likely going to be the FOY. There’s just no freshmen doing much in the league besides him. The coaches vote for these so at least we’re not at the mercy of the media who just look at the Ohio and Michigan teams. Last year the awards were announced on 3/11 so I guess we will find out next week. Further magnifies the importance of Friday’s game. A loss could really deflate this team.

Teague has really lost his brain the last several games (I also believe Whit allowed Coleman and Ish to become the center of the offense during that time frame), and it is going to cost him dearly. As you say, the guard play in the league is way too strong for Ish to get any serious recognition. And Coleman's numbers are respectable (10.5ppg/ 5.4rpg in league play), but it speaks volumes that he will get MAC FOY with an A/ TO ratio of 1/1 and 3 TO per game (and the stats people miss a lot of his turnovers) and 29% from three in MAC play. Regardless of what a few continue to trumpet on here, MAC basketball blows.

Agree with what has been said. I think Teague had pretty much a wrap for POY during the first half of the MAC season, but the shine wore off as the second half of the MAC season progressed. Coleman appears to have an excellent chance at FOY with his numbers. Ish though good, is probably honorable mention. How we finish at Northern may have significant impact on all three. Wish we would have seen more of Thomas and Acree during the year, though they may not have been ready for prime time.

Don’t think Teague was a wrap for POY but he would he would have been in the conversation. Turner and German would have been front runners, especially with their teams doing so well. But, Teague was at least playing at a possibly POY level.

Teague still definitely First team All Mac! Okay, of the following: Player PPG RPG APG L. Jackson Akron 20.0 2.7 4.5 X. Williams Akron 13.6 9.4 1.4 E. German N. Ill 20.6 4.1 2.7 J. Turner BG 18.6 4.6 2.5 M. Jackson Tol 19.5 4.3 5.5
T. Teague BSU 14.3 9.0 2.1
Who do you bump for Teague? X. Williams of Akron I guess, especially if Akron already has their PG Jackson on the team, but is Teague really performing better? Also, if Akron is the best team in the MAC as opposed to Ball State only being the 4th or 5th, doesn't Akron deserve 2 players if it's a toss-up between Teague and Williams?

Right now it would appear Teague is closer to 2nd team than 1st team given how he’s tailed off recently and we’re 5-5 in our last 10.

Totally disagree....Jackson stats arguably not better and on a worse team. And, I believe rebounding and defense is not being fully being considered.
My bet is for sure first team....but we will see.

Jackson stats are pretty much the 2nd best listed. I do agree With you on defense but not sure voters care

Jackson from Toledo has better PPG but not rebounding and worse team...also aren't Williams stats basically even with Teague??
And, in my league defense counts...doesn't BSU have one of the best defensive teams in the league? And, isn't Teague a big contributor? Anyone more than a 5 time weekly MAC player of the week??
Come on....

But, Williams had a better one. FWIW
