No. Plitt doesn’t have the arm strength the NFL looks for. Good qb for us but not a guy who gets drafted. And Is Eli Peters suddenly going to become really good?

Good college quarterback but he doesn’t have the arm strength for the NFL.

Nope. I think he may get on a practice squad as a FA but get released shortly after.

I'm sure you guys are right, but I'll just say this: There aren't 32 starting QBs in the NFL that are worth a shit. Probably at least 5 teams each year struggle at the position. And of the backups only about 5-10 can even come close to being competitive. And if a backup does get in a game the playbook for most gets cut back drastically.
So if all 64 of those guys have great arm strength, they clearly lack in other areas. Which leads me to believe that maybe arm strength shouldn't be the end all be all for NFL QBs.

I would think he would need one great senior year to get that kind of attention. Without the arm strength, better be great in all other areas.

Plitt has come a long way since he started here. I remember reading on this site that he wasn’t cut out to be a starting quarterback at this level. This was from a few years ago when he was a freshmen. I don’t think he will get drafted, but the fact that we are even having this discussion speaks volumes to the work he has put in. From what I have heard he is a great leader. He may not have the physical tools that Neal has, but he has proven that he is the better quarterback. I am thankful that he is our starting quarterback and that we have him for one more season.

Joey said your going to like this kid and went on to tell me how he never really threw the ball much in highschool. His team ran some old school offense but when he did throw he was really good. Fast forward to the spring game I left shaking my head. Plitt was awful but he kept plugging away and has turned out to be a good MAC qb. The team just likes him and plays hard for him.

Yep, I was at that spring game too and we were both thinking “no way.” He wasn’t even close. Now look at him! Not the most physically gifted, but great leader. Reminds me of Brent Baldwin, but with Plitt being a better passer.

Yep, I was there too, and thought we surely had someone better than he that I saw there that day.

The different is confidence. Once you get it you take charge of the huddles, your teammates listen to what you say. You throw the ball with more precision. Your memory get short (you put bad play and decisions in the back of your mind). The game ''slows down'' and you see the field of play better. In short confidence makes you a much better football player. Every aspect of the game comes into focus and you become a force in ball games.

I think he needs to have a great season and lead Ball State to a amazing season to make up for his lack physical traits. I could see him as a backup somewhere
