Back when Whitford was interviewing, there was interest on the board for Linc Darner as a possible hire; I believe he had some local connections, had some success as a HC at lower college levels, etc. He was just let go by Green Bay after a mediocre stint: hoopdirt.com/Western Michigan transfer, Michael Flowers, had as his initial final four DePaul, Iowa State, Cal and Santa Clara; he ends up committing to South Alabama. www.verbalcommits.com/players/michael-flowers

An over .500 record with a conference championship and they let him go? That would get a coach a statue here these days.

Looks like he is a solid coach with strong Indiana Ties. Can't be easy recruiting kids to go to Green Bay. Not exactly a Garden of Eden. I admire coaches who have had success in the lower divisions. I have to think those are basketball teachers which many of today's kids need.
