I would suggest the patch "Stop killing black people".
Everybody's with me on that. Right? From there, you can choose to be more concerned about the unarmed (approximately) dozen a year killed by police, or the several thousands killed by criminals...depending on which you think is worse.

Guys what we are forgetting is that this is probably what the Majority of the team wants. I keep thinking back to high school basketball and the one year we were allowed to vote on the shoes we wanted to wear. The coaches and parents wanted us to have the all grey (natural) converse because it was just what a basketball team was supposed to wear. The players wanted these ugly ass Nikes so for a week or so the battle raged.. Finally a couple players decided to just say if we could not get the nikes they were not playing the rest of the team followed. The coaches and parents then said you know what its not worth it and the team got the ugly ass nikes. Not another word was ever said and everyone survived.

I think the university, at this point in time, is probably 100% in support of these messages. So when some of you get upset at the athletes for doing something the university probably endorses, I think you're getting upset at the wrong people. You are right that the administration fully expects that all the messages will be ones that the administration themselves agree with....or at least ones that they would be terrified to be seen as opposing.
Jason Whitlock said in another context (the major professional leagues): "Their fear-driven leadership has turned America’s great unifier — sports — into a racial divider."
Exactly right.

Bold take here: If this goes through, every single one of us is going to see some patch they object to. The question is, what are you gonna do about it, brush it off or vote with your feet when the inevitable happens? It's like the license plates for special-interest groups in Indiana and a lot of other states. Many applauded when "In God We Trust" or "Choose Life" was put on plates... until "LGBT youth" or some such wanted (and received) their own plate. Get ready for the BLM and Thin Blue Line plates, because they're coming How about ignoring it? I know I don't read license plates very much... That was pretty much my point. I'm just old school and pretty good with any old standard-issue plate ...or team uniform.

No Sherman, everybody is not with you on that. Especially the vast majority of the players on the football team across every demographic, their parents, the coaches and their families, and everyone associated with BSU football. If you don't like it, you have the right to not watch any Ball St games if they are played this year.
With this type of post in this thread, and your going on about football finances, how can you even call yourself a supporter of this football program ?

Most people using BLM probably mean all lives should matter and saying black lives too often do not. Pretty mild sentiment.
Completely false.
Google the phrase "all lives matter fired" and see how many people have lost their jobs for that blasphemy

The NCAA has placed all schools in a terrible position on this issue. Say yes and people will be mad. Say no and people will be made. The NCAA did a terrible disservice to schools. Maybe I need to step back and just say, “shit” and move on with it.

Every School is going to end up allowing this and at the end of the day you do not want to be the school not allowing it..

Well that hurts. I need my friends on this board to step and defend me while I go off and try to heal

The point I have made on Facebook is that every American is guaranteed Life, Liberty, and the PURSUIT of Happiness. We should all work to make sure that this happens. I have spent my life doing this work. But, when it comes to riots, looting businesses, and killing people, that’s where I draw a line - no questions asked. But again, I go to a game to for entertainment and not indoctrination. I will get a refund on my season tickets and will not financially support the University until this stops. Ish did it the correct way this summer. This hurts me a lot more than the University. I have been a season ticket holder since the early seventies. I’m depressed, but with time, I’ll get over it. I know where you are coming from David. Sometimes you just need to protest, even if it's with your feet. I for example ran track and cross country at BSU, 4-year letter man and team captain of CC my senior year. After graduating, each year I made a generous contribution to the BSU athletic fund. I requested each year it be used for men's track and CC;not totally sure it was. That is until BSU dropped men's track and CC in large part for Title 9 compliance (hence the avatar I use). Since then, I haven't given BSU athletics a dime. I'm sure no one at BSU noticed, but it was my small way to protest.

I never got a straight answer where alumni money directed to track ever ended up. One of the penny wise pound foolish decisions made under that administration.
