Im going to throw this out there for some perspective..Jonathan Isach the only Nba Player to stand for the anthem. He left the game later due to a knee Injury. Twittersphere took over an so many people killed the guy and his Injury. We meaning all people just have to learn to accept peoples beliefs and just quit being dicks Being dicks is when you wish someone dead or physical harm. Protesting with feet and money is peaceful protest and not wishing anyone harm. Not rioting, not breaking windows or looting. Just stating my disagreement. Big difference. But as I said earlier, the NCAA is to blame for this state of affairs, they own the problem. Whimps!

David I was more referring to the people commenting on this guys Twitter being dicks about his choosing to stand and the injury that followed. I do think everyone can be a bit nicer to everyone though. I know I could be because sometimes I'm just an asshole

David, you really think the NCAA really would have come out smelling like roses if they had banned little patches? No way would that have gone well for that organization, especially in the days of claims of athletes being exploited.

This is an NCAA gesture to the players that the organization respects their concerns and opinions about social issues that are presently in controversy and are willing to see their having opinions as important enough to allow them to express them this way (not some other).
Without doing something like this players would have a legitimate complaint that they are without a chance to express concern. Of course then they might then resort to individual, unofficial and unsanctioned and uncontrolled expression. I think a very high probability that would be far more objectionable and controversial to everyone.
This covers the ass of the NCAA if faced with complaints and gives them some legitimacy if they ask players not to use other means of expression or in any way limit their expression. It creates a standard policy and practice rather than one created by each member institution.
All in all it seems a pretty good idea. Expecting athletes to accept Arizona's view that this is on Ball State time and individual expression isn't appropriate ignore the reality that the players have views (right or wrong and for whatever reasons) and will want to express those views.

Nearly everyone is for equality for all, but why should we support a Marxist group? People are tired of the bs. These sports leagues are probably regretting bowing down to the sjw mob. Outside of the PGA Tour, tv ratings are much lower than expected. I wonder why that is?

I know where you are coming from David. Sometimes you just need to protest, even if it's with your feet. I for example ran track and cross country at BSU, 4-year letter man and team captain of CC my senior year. After graduating, each year I made a generous contribution to the BSU athletic fund. I requested each year it be used for men's track and CC;not totally sure it was. That is until BSU dropped men's track and CC in large part for Title 9 compliance (hence the avatar I use). Since then, I haven't given BSU athletics a dime. I'm sure no one at BSU noticed, but it was my small way to protest. I protested publicly and privately with the President and AD after that decision. I never got a straight answer where alumni money directed to track ever ended up. One of the penny wise pound foolish decisions made under that administration. 00hmh, Thanks for giving it the old college try. Guess you didn't have enough stroke.
