I've long admired Whitlock's enthusiasm for telling uncomfortable "truths;" even if I don't agree, his works make me think. That said, I can't see how he draws any comparison between groups demonstrating (yes, sometimes unacceptably violently) for racial or political justice, and another which actively promoted racial supremacy and murder. Maybe only if you remove the racial and political identity of those facing intimidation and reduce the actions to crimes against people and property.
Yes, there will be ramifications, and unfortunately some will be too blinded by their own grievances to even consider them valid. That's all I really care to say about it.

Well, Muncie held a "Black Lives Matter" rally and march of thousands, and nary a rock was thrown. I know that's not indicative of all street protests, but it's something. Maybe we're just special.

Smart of him to only agree to an email interview.
A lot tougher to take his words out of context. Or "interpret" them for him.

I liken BLM more to the Tea Party or OWS than the KKK. The KKK was established for a very specific reason, the supremacy of white people over PoC. BLM, like the Tea Party, or OWS were established to enact change in the face of what they believed to be moral, economic, or racial injustices. Those movements, however, ended up getting co-opted by radicals and the original messages drown out by the louder, sometimes more violent, minority.
The original tenets of the BLM movement were admirable, same as that of the Tea Party and OWS. The original tenets of the KKK were nothing short of intended genocide.

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the beliefs of the people currently being installed at the highest levels of the legal system:
"One: Dr. Richard King reveals that at the core of the human brain is the "locus coeruleus" which is a structure that is Black because it contains large amounts of (neuro) melanin which is essential for its operation.
Two: Black infants sit, stand, crawl and walk sooner than whites.
Three: Carol Barnes notes that human mental processes are controlled by melanin--that same chemical which gives Blacks their superior physical and mental abilities.
Four: Some scientists have revealed that most whites are unable to produce melanin because their pineal glands are often calcification or non-functioning. Pineal calcification rates with Africans are five to 15 percent, Asians 15 to 25 percent and Europeans 60 to 80 percent. This is the chemical basis for the cultural differences between Blacks and whites.
Five: Melanin endows Blacks with greater mental, physical and spiritual abilities--something which cannot be measured based on Eurocentric standards."
But, you know, at least we don't have that nutty, racist Donald Trump and his gang around anymore.

We're ahead unless Biden buys in. I'm sorry but we'll have to ask you not to participate in any discussion involving racism. Some of us take racism seriously and have strong principles against it, whereas you only use it as an occasionally handy partisan tool, and other times make excuses for it when your partisan allies spout the most repulsive and reprehensible racist ideas.

I think you miss the point.
I doubt Biden pays much attention to the college writings of an appointee and listens to others and doesn't fire people who disagree with him. If he does I will condemn him. Biden's team looks pretty competent to me, unlike Trump's unqualified appointees, with the competent fired fairly often. It seems racist advisors were given quite a voice in decision making. He loved those Q conspiracy theories, fringe Covid theories and the racism of Steve Miller.

I doubt Biden pays much attention to the college writings of an appointee.................. He likely just assumes everyone who turns in a college paper plagiarized it anyway.

Show us the most racist screed you can come up with from anyone Trump appointed to any high position of responsibility. Then let's put it up against the bullshit below and see which is worse and more stupid. Of course, you won't find anything remotely comparable.
More importantly, you need to confront your own racism that leads you to make excuses for garbage like that. "Oh, she was joking" Well I don't think racism is very funny myself...perhaps you find it quite amusing.

Steve Miller, a lot more influential in the Trump WH than this appointee has a history of white supremacist rhetoric back to college at Duke, continuing at Breitbart after college.
We've seen his prejudice which resonates with Trump translated into policy.

We've seen his prejudice which resonates with Trump translated into policy. Give us examples of Miller's extreme statements. I don't know anything about him. I seriously doubt his comments are worse than some of the racist statements Joe Biden has in his past.
