I doubt leaving was her decision. The show likely had to cut back in anticipation of decreased ad and syndication revenue. Besides hasn't this show sort of been in wind-down mode for the last fifteen years. Chick McGee is the only long term cast member who was ever funny.

They were only ever about 5% as cute and funny as they seemed to think they were.
They once had a TV ad that showed the two of them in tuxedos. As the camera panned out, it was revealed they were also wearing tu tu's. The joke was supposed to be that the unexpected sight of the tu tu's was such a complete contrast to the formal tuxes. Problem was, the one guy was wearing his LA Dodgers hat, which is also a contrast to the tuxes, and was visible from the beginning. So the joke was already telegraphed and ruined before it happened. How do people, whose job is supposed to be comedy, not understand this? Pathetic.

I remember tuning in that show sometime in 1995 and they were giving Bob's mom a hipness quiz, to see how current she was with the in-crowd. Their first question was " Name the four Beatles", because you know nothing spells cutting edge like knowing a rudimentary fact, about the most famous rock group ever, a quarter century after they broke up. Of course what else did I really expect from Q-95. Perhaps they could have let loose a question about the Johnson administration instead ?
