Not a bad showing tonight at ranked AZ - lost 3-0.
It looks like Maloney bumped his pitching rotation to give the hitting a chance to come around later in the series. Weatherly got off to a rough start, but settled in a bit. Losey and Johnson pitched well.
We appeared to catch a tough break at a pivotal point in the game, as Scheffler pinch hit to lead off the 7th and tripled, but he missed 2B.
Hitting usually always lags to start the season, and you tend to see a few more errors than normal. I read somewhere that our team hasn't been outside for quite some time. Is the weather crappy or something? Haha!

Caught the final 3 innings of Game 2 of the series, which the Cards won 8-7 in 11.
Arizona loaded the bases with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth but got caught trying to steal home to end the inning.
Ball State drew a bases-loaded walk to score the wining run.
McDermott started and went 3.1, but Baker pitched the final 4 for the win.

Given coach went for the win last night by pitching Baker the final 4 innings, a win today or tomorrow will be tough. Pitching will be in short supply.
Great win, though! Good to see the team battling.

When they didn’t score after loading the bases in the second inning I suddenly had a bad feeling about how the game would end. Glad I was wrong.

Reading the AZ Star this morning. Today, got first page of the sports section. Yesterday was at the end of the section.
They haven’t lost a home non conference series with this current coach. I thinks that’s over 5 years or so. Pitching is getting out of some jams.
A series split is pretty unusual here for a non PAC 12 team. A series win and, wow. I look for AZ to be very focused today, we will get their best shot. Hopefully over focused so where there can’t be loose.
I can’t see us winning but I didn’t see a split coming either. So who knows. GO CARDS!

With conference season consisting of no mid-week games and only 4 MAC games each weekend, this will be a good test to see how deep BSU pitching can go in a game 4 situation. |

Is today's game feed extremely choppy? Seems to be buffering a lot.
I don't think I'd recommend UA's T-Comm program.
