Say what you want about Boogie and certainly he had his flaws but with two years left he had the most ceiling of any player on our team and clearly would have become an ALL MAC performer. Its a massive loss which will likely hurt Whit so for many rooting for this I guess maybe it's a good thing. IMO, he was moving towards a Bonzi level player. Had the potential, not the coach!

Well I guess he was moving TOWARDS a Bonzi level player in the same sense that when I jump as high as I can, I am moving TOWARDS the stratosphere.

What does that even mean? Wells was three times first team, scored almost 2500 points, almost 900 rebounds, nearly 350 steals and led his team to a MAC title and the NCAA & NIT. Multi-All American and played against talent that was light-years better. Wells was spectacular. If Coleman somehow dug his head out of his a** and actually played to his potential he wouldn't even sniff the NBA and Bonzi played there 10 years. C'mon David, you've been around a long time and are surely more astute than to make that kind of comparison.

He's not Bonzi.
Might improve and get an NBA chance.

He's not Bonzi. Might improve and get an NBA chance. I suppose it depends on your use of the word chance. He just finished his third year of college ball, we would see some flashes of greatness by now.

Understand your omens, but my key word was “moving towards.” The kid has potential, but as someone else said, “he needs to get his head out of his ass.”

Bonzi also had his head up his ass pretty good in his middle years here, but that didn't prevent HIM from averaging 25/9.

To be fair he has had a flash or two. Isolated games or stretches in a game, he has been very good. FOY is not a bad credential. The three years you cite include a red shirt year and he missed a lot of this year.
While I agree he is not Bonzi or a sure fire NBA prospect, and has to improve, I am not sure why you are so hard on him. You have never liked this kid and he has exceeded your expectations. Labelled by you as a waste and not deserving to be recruited he has become a starter and received a good deal more accolades than you predicted.

No I believe I said he isn't worth a redshirt and "can't guard a mailbox".

I’m not sure why he is out; I believe he got along well with Whit and he was liked by his teammates. I suspect he wanted to play on a bigger stage; he will likely land in a Power 5 conference in my view which proves he has some upside.
I’m not sure he would have reached Bonzi’s numbers but the kid had All Mac written all over him!
This is a big loss for Whit and I doubt he comes back

I wouldn't be shocked if Coleman comes back ............. And I wouldn't be surprised if Coleman coming back isn't tied to Whitford getting his extension.
