Either Gunn was never a D1 talent and not a “big time” recruit for us, or, Whitford totally failed to develop Gunn as a player and didn’t maximize whatever skill he does have. Or, maybe both.

Is Zack related to CJ Gunn that’s going to IU to play BB? If this is his brother then why did they go to two different high schools?

What's the exact quote again “This is probably big for them, because I’m a big-time player out of Indiana,” Gunn said. “I know (Whitford’s) pretty excited.” There is a second less well known but no less hilarious quote, and no I didn't make this up. “Coach Whitford has brought this program a long way,” Gunn said. “We'll get Ball State back to where it was, back in the early 2000’s, when they were in the (NCAA) Tournament.”

I'm going to cast a vote for both. Might be a Whitford pattern after 8 full seasons. Let that just seep right in. Year nine coming up. Years 1 & 2 = 12-48 (4-32 MAC) Years 3,4,5 = 61-40 (31-23 MAC) Years 6,7,8 = 44-43 (25-28 MAC) Overall = 117-131 (60-83 MAC) MAC Tourney = 2-7 CIT = 2-2

I'm not too sad about Gunn transferring although with or without him there is unfortunately a dim outlook for 2021-22
