The "window" to jump to a bigger job, bigger market, bigger salary is very short and narrow. In the MAC it feels like two years. You win the league and a bowl (done) and validate with at least another 8-10 win season and another bowl appearance or win, you GOTTA jump. You're talking about potential lifetime $$ especially if you do what Hoke did and get the next job. What did Brady make during his tenure at UM, $10 million?

That successor would be Johnson or Joey I could see that. Or would AD search nationally. Not a great record promoting assistants, but could pinch pennies Would the assistants better off to move with Neu? Assistant could pay pretty well,

Assistants are better to go with a coach if offered at the better paying job. Only ones that might stay would be someone moving into the OC or DC jobs from a lesser position as well as the asst offered the head coaching job.

I would think if BSU goes 8-4 or better this year Neu would be on the radar of AAC and Mountain West schools for any future openings. I'd rather Neu leave for that reason than BSU having to can him in say 2-3 years (not my expectation) for poor performance. The BSU football head coach like most MAC schools not named Ohio will be a stepping stone, even for alums.
