For those of you at or close to my age bracket, the loss of Glenn Frey takes a huge hole out of what was left of my youth. Eagles music, especially the early songs, were the soundtrack of the 70s. In fact their greatest hits album was the best selling album of the entire 20th century. Many don't know the band prior to Joe Walsh, but those days were filled with what was dubbed California Country Rock. Eagles, Jackson Browne, Linda Rondstadt, Poco, and others created a sound of rock music played with country guitars. Glenn Frey was at the center of that movement. I had the pleasure of seeing them on several occasions and knowing that won't happen again is a sad feeling. Similar to when John Lennon died and when Phil Everly died. A "Peaceful Easy Feeling" to all of you today.

You got it jam. The Eagles were some of the best music the United States ever put together. I've been playing albums all day. I'm sure iTunes is selling a lot of Eagles music today. RIP Glenn Frey.

Got the pleasure of watching them in concert 3 times. Jam said it best, they were the band.
