It's just increasingly hilarious how excuses and spinning failure are so imbedded in the culture of this program. Guskey plays along as usual. The first sentence in a story about next seasons schedule has to slip in an implied excuse for a previous failure:
MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State men’s basketball’s 2020-21 season ended with an exit in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference tournament, an overtime loss against top-seeded Toledo
So, you see, you can't really blame Whitford for yet another post season failure because it was against THE TOP SEEDED TEAM, you know. This could possibly influence the perception of low-information readers who are unaware Toledo more or less fell apart at the end of the season...ending the season on a 2-3 streak with both wins being against BSU. Also, don't think about how a team gets into the position of playing the top seed in the first round of a conference tourney.
I don't think Whitford, his staff, the players, Guskey and the jock-sniffing "supportive" fans in this site even realize they are doing it anymore. They exist in an environment of excuses and failure-spinning like a fish exists in water.

What are the dates of the two events? Naples seems to be TBA, maybe a December tourney?
