This whole thing still burns my ass. You have Dickitch on his show talking about how Knight would find jobs for recruits parents and that was alright? Neil Reeds father was hired with the help from Knight and that is not skirting the rules? Bottom line the NCAA made us one of their victims because they had to look like they were doing their job. The big schools with all the cash have always gotten away with murder. This would not have happened with another AD. Hunsaker wouldn't have gotten axed if we'd had an AD that wasn't out to get him... and every other men's sport on campus. Seger hated that men's sports got the lion's share of, well, everything... but she didn't seem to understand WHY.

I thought Hunsakeer was let go by AD Don Purvis. Purvis was terminated shortly after that and the WAD was named AD over both men and women's sports. Prior to that she was AD of women's sports. It was Seger who really did tremendous damage to all men's sports.

There is a hostility towards men's sports among women's athletics, that is never very far below the surface, obviously caused by jealousy of the vastly greater popularity of men's athletics. It will never be possible to divert enough money from mens to women's teams/leagues to satisfy them, because even the need for that diversion really pisses them off.
