Sure am looking towards that IUK match up. Without Longwood, Morehead State, or the Game Cocks from South Carolina, and with Beaver College changing their name a couple of years ago there is simply no reason to buy a season ticket. I was hoping for Oral Roberts.

Definitely feels like the 2015-16/16-17 patsy schedules.

Well, when your athletic department is broke, you're not bringing in Villanova, Kansas, Duke, or Kentucky. But here's the problem...the crappy teams actually cost more to bring in because they are one-offs who you pay handsomely to come to Muncie. The last I heard (several years ago) it started at about $100,000 to bring a school like Grambling State in.

We are NEVER bringing in Duke, Ky, KU or anyone like them.
Don't kid yourself we could save money. It's not even easy to get home and home or 2 for 1 games with near equals.

Bring back the CVC Classic. I remember most years we had another good team come in. Was there front and center and watched us beat Ole Miss!

Harder now to do that.

The best series for us are 1 and 1's with IUPUI, Indiana State, and other mid majors who are geographically close.

I like all those opponents. Not likely we get them home/away in a single year. Maybe sometimes.
If we got them 1 game every year long term it would be great.
I'd add in games with other good mid majors in surrounding states, MVC teams, NKU, and others.
One D1 home patsy every year is fine. Maybe as exhibition a good lower level team?
Tournaments with decent to good teams and a money game maybe a fact of life, and can get better teams on schedule.

Butler, Purdue, or Indiana; at least one every year! Desirable from our POV, perhaps. Will not happen.

I just have a question since we are talking about b ball. Why do you never hear a thing about service academy basketball.. They have basketball right? I remember David Robinson played for Navy.. They can field decent football why not b ball

I just have a question since we are talking about b ball. Why do you never hear a thing about service academy basketball.. They have basketball right? I remember David Robinson played for Navy.. They can field decent football why not b ball Basketball doesn't lend itself well to football schemes such as the wishbone offense, or probably better referred to as option offense. Couple that with a shot clock, etc. and you're obligated to play as the game (basketball) currently exists. Although it's probably still an issue, in times past there were height restrictions at some service academies; partly related to potential issues of potentially being a jet pilot and so forth. But with a wink and a nod there could always be an exception (if you are a tall, talented basketball player, we'll find a way and so forth). I vaguely recall the David Robinson situation; apparently the service academies require active duty service post graduation, however, Robinson was given a waiver, after all he was tall and brought recognition to the Naval Academy. You raise a fair question, I tried to make sense; I reserve the right to be wrong.
