Yeah, Navy/seafarer vernacular meaning unmapped parts of the ocean which can be hazardous for sailors to navigate. I don't know the civil war army equivalent... By that I mean that the ideas of wanting the coach to fail but the team to succeed seem diametrically opposed. I still want to enjoy small successes and victories but I want the coach to fall flat on his face. I prefer nice dry earth, but the waters in question have been crossed, re-crossed, criss-crossed, over-crossed and under-crossed over these last 20+ long years on these boards. There are more charts than there is water at this point. This part of the college BB ocean may be hazardous to one's sanity, but anyone here should be able to navigate it with eyes closed.

A four-step process to enjoy the season and get rid of Whit:
1. Beat Xavier (and the rest of the remaining preconference schedule) 2. Dominate the MAC regular season. I'm talking 1, maybe 2 losses. 3. Win the MAC tournament 4. Win at least one NCAA Tournament game
If all those happen, I think maybe someone ignores Whit's past and takes a shot at him. He'll certainly be floating his name out there to get the hell out of Muncie.

Your scenario could work, but I would put my hopes on something more plausible...maybe something involving aliens or a magic rainbow-farting unicorn.

Whit would need multiple years with that kind of success to catch the attention of any other school (other than lower level programs) at this point.

Certainly any schools in the GLIAC (great lakes intercollegiate athletic conference) would be very interested in Whitford. After all, he took GLIAC powerhouse Michigan Tech down to the wire, despite all the disadvantages BSU was under.

I prefer to use unfired clicks versus uncharted waters. I'd like our clicks to fire while simultaneously firing our coach. Is that too much to ask?
On another bizzaro topic and quote, remember when Huggie was referred to by Whit as the alligator, the only creature in Africa that had no mortal enemies? Even though gators don't habitate that continent. And even if they did, hippos and elephants and even large jungle cats have been known to kill crocs? Anyway, not my analogy but Whitford's. So what happened to the manbun gator? Why no PT for the big fella? Hurt? Recruited over? Can't beat out the two freshmen? Does that make Sparks the Hippo and Jihad the Jungle Cat? Will there be other cross continent animal mix ups? Just looking for something interesting to pass the season.

I have found the damn problem our guys are starving. What's odd is at the volleyball championship the each b ball player had a big box of chic Fila hand delivered to them in their seats followed by several rounds of Gatorade crowdfunding.bsu.edu/

Hey don't sleep on the GLIAC, Butler is in a tight game with Saginaw Valley at this very moment.
