Calhoun is good luck against Catholic schools, they pay for him to travel to those games.

They're gonna need a good exorcist for the Cintas Center after the game...

I'm going to watch us get spanked live You are going to witness one of the most classless crowds in college sports. Oh and be very careful where you park, find a university lot if possible, don't park on a neighborhood street unless you want to get robbed on the way back to your car. X is like an island sandwiched between two dangerous ghettos. After the game head directly back to the interstate, don't drive around looking for a place to put gas in your car.

You speaking from experience? the UC campus is also right next to a less than desirable area. Do not stray.

Yes I lived in that city for almost twenty years and attended several games at the Cintas Center. You just need to be careful, and not get upset at X fans screaming drunken F bombs all game. They complain about every single call no matter how good the officiating is. Oh and don't be surprised if there are guys smoking dope in the men's room, I have seen that at least twice. Although to be fair the move to the Big East may have priced some of their low rent fans out of there.

Lived in Cincy area for seven years. Went to some UC games versus Miami. Rough area around campus. Expect same for X. Immediate Cindy area is nothing but thugs, we stopped going to downtown Cincinnati a couple of decades ago - it is dead! Some life down by the river, though not much. All they did the last few years is cry about how Indianapolis had replaced them as the economic center of the Midwest outside of Chicago.

Loved in Cindy are for seven years. I don't know how I feel about Cindy, but she must be one hell of a girl.

I went with a group of friends the last time we played at Xavier. The Cintas Center was relatively new - heck of a nice arena. The locals told us they are known for getting ridiculous calls at home because the refs are scared of the fans.
We will get our butts handed to us regardless of being a sandwich game. I don't care if we shoot 65% from 3 - we will still find a way to lose.

Yeah and even an area like Norwood is a drug and crime infested shithole now. It wasn't too bad just ten years ago. Avondale, E-Town (Evanston), and Norwood surround the Xavier campus and they are all dangerous neighborhoods.

Lived up on Mt. Adams in Cincy for a year around 1986. Felt reasonably safe walking all over town in those days. Of course, I AM a badass. Haven't been there in quite a while. Seems like my last visit around 10 years ago, that the Over-the-Rhine area was trying to gentrify with some hipsterish bars, restaurants and so forth. Did that not take off? Don't imagine that the establishment's pro-criminal sentiments have helped matters in recent times.

OTR's "Renaissance" was built on the back of governemnt loans and tax abatement. It was okay the last time I was there in 2017, I am not sure what it is like post Covid. The problem is it's almost all bars and restaurants, those areas typically stay hot for a while then people quit coming.
The biggest problem downtown Cincinnati has is a critical lack of tier 1-3 conventions. They just don't get the large expense account business other cities get.

It's an old city, Indy and other venues new and shiny.
Now not like NYC or Chi which reinvent themselves.
