Is the “Bud Getchell” you mention as a coach the same “ Bud Getchell” that became famous worldwide for his pioneering in exercise science and put Ball State on the map in this area? If so I never realized until now that he was once a BSU men’s BB coach.

He did not accomplish a lot as our basketball coach as I was a student at the time.

His best season in 4 tries was 9-15. Let's just say he wasn't nearly as good a basketball coach as he was a fitness advocate, pioneer and author and leave it at that.

Getchell being interviewed prior to his first season as BSU coach. Notice at 0:18 he declines the offer of the "young team" excuse. He may not have been too good of a coach, but at least was honest.
