What would make you believe basketball is the top priority at UWGB ? They have won their conference once in the last 25 years. You are just clueless............... Granted this is smaller scale athletics than the "big time" of the MAC, but why would I believe that MBB is the top priority?
"Men’s sports consist of: basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, diving and tennis. Women’s sports are basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, diving, tennis and volleyball." Which men's sport do you think they give priority?
They have about a 9 or 10 million dollar budget total with no football, and spend the largest single amount on MBB. About 2 million in expenses allocated to MBB. Revenue for MBB is about break even there. They paid Darner $230K and he had built in extensions for top 4 finishes in conference. The new coach is $175K without the guaranteed extensions.
WBB may also be a profitable sport. They have about 50% more women athletes at WGB and spend more total on the women with about 33% of expenses not allocated by gender. Facilities, trainers, marketing and other non coaching staff probably all included in that category.
Athletics is like BSU supported by student fees. I can't tell exactly but the per student subsidy may be about the same there.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah............ Meanwhile, their WBB coach makes more than their men's coach. openpayrolls.com/employee/kevin-borseth-16963You are clueless............Yep they are all about Men's Basketball

It’s interesting looking at the Ball State record book. We were really good from1988-89 through 2002-2003. Then the bottom feel out with some bad hires. I remember going to many of those games and in the early days at the arena, you pretty much sat in the bench seats because we had good crowds - leading the MAC in attendance. It’s hard to believe, but outside of those very successful years, Whitless has a better record than most any other coach! Doesn’t say much for the long term history of men’s basketball At ole Ball U. We had one bright spot in the sun for 12 years in our recent past and we all yearn to see it happen again, it was special. I believe we still hold the record for most MAC Tournament Championships, and if you looked at the number of times we were runner-up, it was truely an amazing run. I attend a number of those Championship games and it was a truely amazing thing to be a part. I remember the Ball State fans yellling, “NCAA BSU all the way!” Can we do it again, I’d like to think so. We have one of the top three venues in the MAC and we are in basketball crazy Indiana. The right coach, like RM, DH, or RM, could get it done. Do I have faith in the administration to do it, hell know!
FYI, Ball U has seven MAC Tournament Championships, as does Ohio U thanks to winning the last tournament. Got to stop Ohio from taking that title away from us! Toledo did a number on OU in Athens last week - had to root for the Rockets and that is difficult task as I consider them conference enemy No. 1!

After my post, I got to thinking about my favorite championship game. It would have to be the 91/92 Championship game in Columbus at the conference center downtown. Little Jammie Mathews went off for a ton of points to win the game! When my wife and I got outside it was almost a blizzard. We drove back to Warren, OH three hours in a snow storm - but didn’t care as we saw our Cards win the MAC Championship in dramatic style!! NCAA BSU all the way!

Don’t lose sight of the Jaguars.
They had 3 consecutive games cancelled but came back to beat the East-West University Phantoms (true story) on Monday.
KenPom seems to not recognize this victory and they are still clinging to the 358 spot.
ESPN+ will feature the Jags on Thursday.

I think IUPUI should go back to using the "Drillers" nickname they used when they were Indiana Dental. That's a much better name than Jaguars.

We have a fairly large dead limb on a tree in our back yard. My wife is always bugging me to trim it off. Bur every time she asks, I google "tree fails". and then it doesn't get done.

I worked Katrina relief way back then, and watching the people who actually knew what they were doing being able to barely avoid catastrophe and expertly redirect massive limbs from the top of buildings was truly fascinating. I was always right on the edge with "this time they are going to totally crush that house" seconds before they maneuvered it correctly. That totally put me in the "hire a pro" camp for big tree maintenance.
