Brown is a very humble but confident and totally unselfish player. A relentless work ethic and all he wants to do is make his teammates better. He needs to get physically stronger so he can defend physical opponents guards. I project he will red shirt next year and add 15 pounds of muscle. He wanted to red shirt his 1st year at BSU but Coach Whitford denied his request. He came into BSU at the semester break then was injured in practice and missed 2 weeks and really never fully recovered resulting in a wasted year. He so humble and unselfish he will not accept his role and just play ball. So he just keeps searching fir somewhere that he can be the only pg shoot 25 times a fame while playing bad D. But he will pass it when ypur open Anyone that watched Stetson play this year saw a talented but very poorly coached team. All the point guard wanted to do was dribble the ball. You could never figure out what they were trying to do on offense. I predict there will be a multitude of players transfer. Jalen Blackman will likely stay because he takes 25 shots a game. Brown hit 46% of his 3 point shots and was among the best in the country in shooting percentage while shooting 88% from the foul line. The two games Brown played the point the final 2 games of the regular season because the point guard was out with a concussion, Stetson played as a team and actually ran an offense and Brown got everyone involved in the offense. When the starting point guard came back for the ASUN tournament and started, it was dribble dribble dribble and Stetson lost in the 1st round. The Hatters then got beat by Milwaukee in the CBI tournament.

So then he quit on his team, because, the coach he thought so highly of to go back to a second time actually isn't good, and, playing time. And left his team BEFORE the the CBI game. What, he threw a fit? Pouted his way off the team? At some point you have to look at a player's behaviors and think, maybe it's him?

I watched just about every stetson game cause I like brown always have but the truth is 2 ncaa D1 basketball coachs have now used him as a back up pg Why? IMO its because he still cant take anyone off tge dribble in half court sets and when a bigger guard comes and out closely faceguards him he cant get a shot off. Yes he excells at shooting open shots thats never been a secret. Yes he runs the fast break very well again we all ready knew that. He is and will be a great role player for someone. He wants to find a coach that is going to run the Luke Brown offense at a D1 level thats going to be tough to do

If this was 1987 maybe you'd run IU's offense which fit Steve Alford? That might fit his shooting ability. But Alford really had a quick release and was very good at using screens in an offense where players were taught from day one how to set screens and play motion offense.
Luke has always played with the ball in his hands, and never shown the great ability to use screens the way Alford did.
Plus he still has to play defense.

He unselfishly quit or the mean coach kicked him off for no reason

The young man probably just needs to come back home and enroll at IWU where he can probably play and get off shots.

From what I was told from a very reliable source, Luke was called into Donnie Jones office last week days before the CBI tournament and was told he had an excellent sophomore season and was going play the point guard next season which was the position he was recruited to play. Later that day, Jones had a meeting with another Stetson player and told him exactly the same thing. That player told Luke what Jones had told him and they are now both leaving Stetson after being lied to on this occasion among other occasions of which I won’t go into. That’s one thing I really like about Michael Lewis, he’s honest with his players and doesn’t lie to his players just to keep them at BSU.

Sorry, but he is not a D1 player. End of story. Try telling that to Florida State, South Florida and ASUN coaches that he is not a D1 player and see what they tell you. There was not a player in the ASUN any more closely guarded than Luke Brown was and he still averaged double figures playing 22-24 minutes a game. He started at the 2 guard position in a 3 guard lineup most of the conference season and he and Jalen Blackman may have been the best 2 shooters in the league. The ASUN is very comparable to the MAC in level of play. Kennesaw State had Xavier down 13 points with 10 minutes left in the game in the NCAA tournament and went 8 minutes without a field goal and lost 73-67.
