With Ball State’s victory over BYU on Saturday, the Cardinals are ranked #9 and #10 in the two national polls. In both polls, BSU is ranked higher than Ohio State, BYU and Stanford! Congrats to first year coach Donan Cruz and the team for a great start to the 2022 season!

Great first year. No doubt impressive.
But the ranking thing easy to exaggerate with so few teams.
Always good to be above average though!
And you're playing for a shot at national recognition if you move up a bit. I don't think we're there at #9.

You have to believe had BSU held on to defeat BYU on Friday, BSU would likely be a top 5 team. A week ago after the Hawaii victories, the Cards received 3 1st place votes in the national poll for the first time in history. The fact that BSU is ranked higher than big name universities and former national champions Ohio State, Stanford and BYU is something we should be very proud of as Ball State fans. This Ball State team can compete with any team in America. |

But the top 10 rating is in a men's sport with only a small number of big schools participating at all, it's not quite what it sounds like. But I'll celebrate wildly any time we beat tOSU or other big boys! |

Even with a smaller number of schools, it is awesome BSU is now at a level similar to Ohio State, Penn State, Hawaii, Stanford, UCLA, USC, BYU, Long Beach State, Pepperdine, UCSB, Loyola and UC Irvine. 11 of those schools have won NCAA championships. Looking forward to one of the most exciting seasons in BSU history!

They swept #2 UCLA in Pauley Pavilion which rarely happens.

Most of the home matches for members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference are streamed on the Great Lakes Valley Conference Sports Network (https://glvcsn.com/). This would include Saturday night's match against McKendree and the upcoming away matches with Lindenwood and Quincy. |
