After witnessing the complete embarrassment called BSU Men's basketball tonight, with bourbon in hand, I looked at Whit-less's Swoon record in his previous campaigns. For February under Whit we have a record of 26-62. Excluding the CIT pay-in games, the March record for Whit is 8-23.
With this season sinking fast, how can the University NOT make a change after tonight's pathetic showing. This program is going nowhere under Whitford.

Good coaches correct bad behavior, shore up weaknesses and the team gets better as the season progresses. The key words were "good coaches".

One of the hallmarks of any coach is to see improvement. These stats suggest that has not happened under Whit-less.

You know we can't count his first two seasons at all so please remove those numbers. Also, you fail to mention we've been Mac West Co-Champ or Runner Up a bunch of times. Plus, we probably can't find another coach because we have no money. And since there's no guarantee a change would be any better we just shouldn't try. It's too much of a risk. Oh and we're young...super young. Plus the transfer portal, there's that too. Shit, I almost forgot injuries! Boy have we had some doozies and that's too much to ask to plan or recover from those. So, go ahead and throw out facts all you want but the real story is much more complicated. p.s. We were only really good for a couple of years back in the 80's. The rest is all just folklore.

Furthermore, the ONLY way to get a good coach is to spend a ton of money and outbid all other schools for the most conventionally qualified candidate. The many cases where MAC programs have landed a successful coach with reasonable spending should be completely ignored for reasons. It's better to hold our noses and wait an indefinite number of years until a huge, unexpected sum of money miraculously appears in BSU's vaults. Then we can get rid of Whitford and buy a good coach.

Don’t forget how many times we nearly made the NCAA tournament, especially the year Covid shut everything down. We never got a chance to show how nearly good we were.

Unless we sacrifice a live chicken at center court, it seems the bad juju is here to stay.

We need to give Whit a “pass” for those first two years as he was trying to establish a very complicated system for the future.
That 2015 juggernaut (year 2 of statistical expungement) finished 7-23 and a KenPom 257
We are currently 252 in year 9 of the system for the future
