This is d1 basketball. Find us a fan board where a once proud program is mired in mediocrity and the current coach is in year 9 of going no where and report back to us on how warm and fuzzy the comments are. Fan is short for fanatic and the few of on here still around and still very much caring about ALL BSU athletic programs are damn well gonna kick EVERYTHING around. The program is dead in the water and anyone who still cares wants it to be good again. We bleed Cardinal red and that will never change.

My point was not that being critical was wrong. Far from it. I'm critical of a lot that is going on. My point was that I was searched for a "Fan Site". This is not what I would consider a fan site. It appears the favorite topics of conversation is how much we hate the coach and how embarrassing it was to watch a game because the players are so bad. You're completely out of line now. You are apparently passing judgement based on a superficial look at one or two uncharacteristic threads. Our favorite topics of conversation are Bane and Longwood, as any half-way decent exploration of this site would show. |

This was my favorite part of this silly bit of posts. It's all our fault that the team is losing. Not the team. Question: how did the team manage to win a game in 2020 considering they can't function without fan noise? Take Toledo, what was the difference there? why did we play so well?.... It was the Fans. It's a lot easier to play well in that environment. What happened with Central and NIU? Arena was crowd was small and the arena was quiet. |

Toledo was screwing around in warmups before that game like we were before the NIU game. They took us lightly. We took NIU lightly. The crowd didn't hurt. It was an encouragement. |

Something we do not do enough of Yeah, well winning ... and dollar wienies ... and free parking ... and cheap tickets got us 3,300 in attendance. Betcha if we paid people to show up we could get that place almost half full, even for a losing team. They could market it as taxpayer refund night. |

He clearly wanted a high-major conference and when he finally got the TCU offer, he took it. I'll offer one quote from the Bane thread, without revealing the author, who is a very frequent poster. " True. Bane is a MAC level prospect wanting the big time offer." |

A good crowd adds atmosphere and good players respond and take it to another level. Maybe there's a correlation between that and the typical three-digit crowd in most MAC cities. Your comment just kicked it up a notch.

As a Ball State fan of more than 50 years, let me say I am embarrassed that Whitless is still coaching at Ball State. Many of our current players I really like, I like there toughness for the game - key among them are Sparks, Sellers, and Cochran. Overall, not bad talent. The bad is in the coaching. The rating systems place Ball State in the same place as it was when Whitless came to Ball U! It is time for a change. The AD needs to meet with the players, explain the situation, let them know we will be looking for a stronger coach who will get them where they need to be to win. I’d even ask them to select a player to be on the search committee. Ball State deserves more than Whitless has given the University and its fans. We have a good facility and can attract fans if we develop a winning program - heck, we have the third best attendance in the MAC with Whitless taking us nowhere. It’s time for a change!
