I said back during Morry's later years that people complaining about him would miss him once we got his replacement, who would likely be a banal, off-the-assembly-line, ESPN-bred clone. I was right, as usual. Joel will not be missed. But truthfully, I don't miss Morry either. Joel's style was terrible but at least you could follow what was going on in the game. Couldn't do that in Morry's last years at the mic. Love him for his love of and contributions to BSU if you want, but the announcing in those final years was not good. Hey any hack can use the basketball roster during basketball season, but real talent is referencing football players during basketball games. Certain talents of Morry should be appreciated. It's the BSU way! |

Man, you guys are rough.
I thought Joel did a pretty good job, but I think his East Coast style didn't fit in as well here in the Midwest.
Pat Boylan would be a great choice. If he would take it.

I will not miss Joel in the least! Pat would be great, but I'd be shocked if he would make that move at this point in his career. You guys ever think maybe BSU is doing away with the position, will pay hourly for bb/ fb games, and give the video work to Sportslink? |

It would have to be someone fairly young, though. The pay isn't great. They'd make more doing games on regional networks, or even minor league baseball. |

AKRON AND Groce did what they do and beat toledo.
Akron and Kent would be one hell of a match up. Good possibility for a brawl
