They did something similar before the game they almost fought the fans. Kent was the aggressor although Akron fans took it to far

Say what you want about Whitford, but he has definitely spared us from anyone caring enough to have a nasty, heated rivalry, or any ugly episodes in a conference championship game.

Anybody remember McCurdy and Larranaga sparring during games? McCurdy was calling him and his players “Pussies” when running near their bench. Freaking classic. Parris had the ability to get under our opponents skin. He did the same thing to Gary Payton. Some would say Parris was a thug and I loved it. He was our thug and I would take a roster full of them every year.

I traveled a little during the 'glory days' when BSU went on the road and fans accompanying them expected to win.. I just remember a few of our guys like Beez, Shelton, and the later "transfer" teams with older, married players rubbed some of the MAC fans the wrong way. The fact that fans were high on winning and *might* have gotten a little obnoxious with victory probably didn't help. Oh well..
