Rob, I had Sparks being a stud before the season ever started but I do not think he’ll start at IU, Oklahoma, etc in his Sophomore year! Play yes, start no. I think you might have been privy to info that we did not have. Did you watch him live in highschool his senior year? I did 3 times not even close to being the same kid as he was when the season started. Night and day difference. We all thought in time he might be decent no one expected him to be immediate impact player

I only knew the kid was working his arse off and had lost weight so I guessed he would come in much stronger than what most people expected.
I just don’t see him as a # 4 without a lot of work on his 15-18 foot jumper!
And he is a bit undersized for the # 5 from my view for a P5 school

I think if does end up at IU, which I think is a real possibility, that he would start. Davis will be gone and so will Thompson and the rest of their bigs do not have that much experience.

That sounds a little better i.e Sparks and I wonder if Sparks is actually making a power play here by announcing his entering into the portal and then stating he supports Darner to pressure Beth and the Prez to pick him as the HC. Agreed but I’m not sure that AD and President are feeling any pressure. Darner checks every box( most of all winning)at 3 different places. 2 of those places way worse off than BSU in their respective conferences. Interesting Florida Southern, and Green Bay neither team has been as successful since departure.

Stretch 4s are a thing now. My guess is he ends up at IU and contributes next year. I also suspect we are about to see a complete shift in the college ball landscape and the gap between high and mid major will grow - the one and done situation closed the gap some, but the portal will create a true two class system.

Dale Davis played 100 years ago... Few teams, pro or college, have a center and PF who are strictly post up in the paint. Purdue comes closest this year? But assuming he can be adequate on offense, the problem he will have is defending if he moves up a level.

Power forwards have never been strictly post up players and I never insinuated anything different. This is just another one of your dumb straw-man arguments. Seriously do you even watch basketball ?

Dale Davis you say is the model for Sparks?
You're the guy who needs to watch more basketball.
Sparks is a good MAC big guy, able at this level to use his size and be good rebounder, score 1 on 1. But not as big, 2 or 3 inches shorter and 20 lbs lighter, or as athletic, or near the defender Dale Davis was, nor is Davis the typical PF in the 21st century.
Sparks to be a starter big school PF will have to hit 15-18 foot shots, not just use one hand around the basket. kid is absolutely right. He's quite likely better here until he develops more skills.

Dale Davis you say is the model for Sparks? . I quit reading after that, because I never said anything remotely like that.
