Okay, I watch golf all the time, however I believe taking recruits to a golf meet would also be a bad idea. So I am a little perplexed at all the butthurt on this thread. Worthen fan experience for volleyball is in what way similar to a golf meet?
Yeah the volleyball game attendance is listed at 725, I am certain they were overwhelmed by the fan experience.

Yeah the volleyball game attendance is listed at 725, I am certain they were overwhelmed by the fan experience. It's a terrific fan experience... I enjoy going for sure. Yes, it would be great to have more folks there... but, the same can be said for basketball, right? Saturday night was a tough day to get a bigger crowd... Easter weekend, lots of Muncie folks certainly had holiday weekend plans, and surely most of the students had left campus. As for the actual fan experience, it's really enjoyable to go. First of all BSU plays at a REALLY high level. The announcer makes the game really enjoyable with lots of funny comments, fun nicknames for the players, and a great narrative overall. The fans also are quite knowledgeable about the game, in all the usual ways... cheering when a great play is made, getting on the refs when they miss a call, and more. When BSU gets to set point, everyone rises to their feet and cheers the team on. It really is a GREAT fan experience, for sure. Come on out -- next game is this Wednesday at 7 pm.

In comparison... golf claps have their reputation for a reason... EDIT: As to butthurt, there is no butthurt here (at least from me). If you are interpreting that from my comments you are mistaken. People are engaging in debate on a message board forum, which is what message board forums are meant for. I am simply pointing out that taking a recruit, as a part of a multi-event visit, to a conference championship men's volleyball game (with a small, but loud and energetic holiday weekend crowd) isn't a bad thing, especially when there are no other basketball games or like events on campus at the time of the visit and especially when it's in the building they will be playing in for their future games if they attend BSU. And that you don't have to post regularly on a fan board to be a fan... in fact, most fan boards have lost their juice over the years and only us old farts participate in them now. Much like facebook.

It’s obvious Sweep hasn’t been to a men’s volleyball match where BSU fans rock Worthen Arena! BSU students come out and totally get into the matches much more than basketball. Obviously, Easter weekend kept attendance down, but the crowd will be huge on Wednesday when defending MIVA tournament champion Lewis Flyers comes to town. The Flyers had an epic comeback against Ohio State Saturday trailing the Buckeyes 0-2 and roaring back to win 3-2. Sweep needs to come out Wednesday and be a part of the electric atmosphere! Tickets are only $10. By the way, if Saturday’s match would have been a women’s basketball game, BSU would likely have listed the crowd as 2500! For whatever reason, they over inflate women’s basketball attendance and under inflate men’s and women’s volleyball. Being from UCLA, Michael Lewis has seen plenty of great volleyball and has already been to 3 BSU matches and will likely be there Wednesday night!

The crowd at the match Saturday night made it sound more like 7500 people were there! The energy is incredible and the 21-3 Cardinals are so fun to watch!

As for taking recruits to the MVB match, IMHO they do play at a high level, they are spectacular athletes, and the matches have great atmosphere. Further, there's not much else going on right now. The spring football game has become boring as hell and it's too cold to go to a baseball game. Softball team is good this year but yeah, COLD

I think the volleyball game was probably as interesting to a teenage boy as anything else going on in town that evening. What, with Jokers being closed now.
