One problem…. He went to Indiana 🤮 Hope he doesn’t bring their unjustified arrogance. I wanted a coach with winning head coach experience. I’m sure all the clones who went to Ball State but say “I’m a Notre Dame football fan and Indiana basketball fan” are happy. Then again, anything was better than whitford. At this point I'd welcome "reversible jacket" fans just to get people interested in BSU basketball again. |

As an athletic board enters the typical "euphoric coaching change state", it would be interesting to review the NEW COACH thread from 2013 Like the nerd I am, I attempted to go to the Internet wayback machine for www.bsufans.com to gauge how Whitford was initially received. Unfortunately none of the thread links worked from 2013. If I recall there was mostly a positive initial reaction to Whit, but didn't seem as well received as Lewis. I know the entire bsufans board wanted to move on from Taylor, so that was probably a contributing factor too. |

Even though he was Miami through and through Charlie loved Ball State. I used to enjoy talking with him after games and at luncheons. That was enough for me. Looking back I wonder if Charlie wasn't really just sticking the knife to BSU one more time. |

I went to both Purdue (Keady) and IU (Knight) basketball camps multiple years growing up and learned way more at Purdue.
Just saying….
People forget Keady had a winning record against Knight

VERY excited about this hire. So much that after 20 years I am back on the forum.
I am rooting hard for UCLA to lose so Coach Lewis can get to work!

He had 2 twenty-win seasons at BG, never went to the NCAA in nine years and was 22-39 his last two seasons. If he was the genius and know-it-all he self proclaims to be, he wouldn't be doing talk radio in Indy. He's probably fun to be around to hear stories or play a round of golf with but he's so self-righteous and egotistical it's puke-worthy. |
