Like I said, he is positioning himself for the BSU head coach job (what's Lewis' salary now $400,000 per year?) once Lewis gets his dream job at IU. Nothing wrong with that. It means we all (BSU fans that is) are successful with a winning BSU men's basketball program, at least under Lewis. Now did Beth make any promises to Gudino about being next in line for a lower salary than he was making? That would be the $64,000 question. And he's not giving-up $230,000; just the $30,000 per year differential between his $230,000 at Wichita vs. BSU. That's not a bad gamble for $400,000 per year in about 3 years from now. No one is going to take a job on the prospect Michael Lewis is going to IU. Ball State would have to go the the Final Four in the next three years for that to happen, and even then he wouldn't be a shoe-in. If Ball State goes to the Final Four in the next three years, Lewis will have suitors far about Indiana University. I would say if Lewis got BSU to the Sweet 16, he would be hired away in a heart beat. Look what happened to St. Peters' head basketball coach Holloway. It took him what, 5 days, to turn a Sweet 16 appearance into a head coaching job at his alma mater, Seton Hall. |

I believe that he received a substantial buyout package from W@GB when he departed. Not sure if he is looking to return. |
