I have enough insight into him already. He doesn't bring a single thing that couldn't have been found in better candidates. Strong statement. Do you really think you know which candidates were available? What Mike Lewis wanted and what he might know? Irrelevant to you? What do you know that gives you the kind of insight to ignore those things you don't know? Care to distill that word puzzle into some sort of answerable question.

At any rate, Lewis has his staff and our key players are staying. Looking forward to seeing who they might be able to add to the roster. For the first time in long while we have something to truly look forward to.

Truthfully, I don't care much about this part of Meeks' past. I just like to take potshots at The Butler Way whenever I can.
It doesn't shock me that he was out of coaching for so long. Most schools like to distance themselves from even the accusation of impropriety. (You'll remember how quickly BSU has turned its back on some of its own people in the past instead of fighting for them.) It doesn't matter what the truth is; once you've been accused of something like that you quickly become persona non grata especially if you're supposed to have any contact with young and supposedly impressionable people.

It's not what the public thinks, but what recruits think about his street persona and energy. Maybe even really more about how he gets players revved up and he surely did that as a player. Very tough high energy kid, a lot like Mike Lewis in his determination, we haven't had enough of that.
He won his PT at IU with athleticism, toughness, focus and was basketball smart.
He's not slick and polished, not a Rhodes Scholar, but as a player responded to coaching, and that meant attention to detail, constantly aware to eliminate errors. If he has a dose of his old coach's perfectionism and helps bring that to players he's a big plus.

Are you really that upset a guy was arrested, but not prosecuted, for possibly paying $10 for a blowjob? And do you not have ANY thought that maybe he was indeed innocent? I mean the police would NEVER do such a thing, right? Or is there something else about him, from 22 years ago, that you don’t like? Could you share it?

I mean I know we like to live in the past, but I think we all agree 22 years is a whole different era. Not when you are getting U.S. Senate approval.

I think good? But this? "From 2000-15, Meeks was out of coaching after a 2000 arrest during a recruiting trip in Chicago. Police charged Meeks with soliciting a prostitute and drug possession and resigned from Butler. Meeks then had two charges were dropped with the third acquitted." Fell for the old Loyola of Chicago honey trap. They used to set it for other MCC or Horizon League recruiters who ventured into the Chicagoland. Do not mess with Sister Jean.

I mean the police would NEVER do such a thing, right? Or is there something else about him, from 22 years ago, that you don’t like? Could you share it? Oh no. You'll pay at least $40 for a blowie in Chicago, probably $250 for an "Around the World", possibly another $100 for a "Cleveland Steamer." But you can't rule out an "Italian Foot Bone", a "Spanish Blindfold", possibly a "Scottish Windmill", or a "Mississippi Birdbath", a "Flying Circus", "Bob Sledding", or the the "Rusty Trombone". And for laughs try the "Kentucky Lawnmower". But by all means stay away from the "Push Pop" and the "Salad Toss."
