Can't imagine that any coach over the mid-major level would have an interest in Thomas unless it was as Plan D stopgap to fill a hole that they failed to fill otherwise. Maybe you noticed the total indifference around here when it was understood he didn't plan to use his final year of eligibility.
If there is an interesting upside to Thomas, it would be that he might be more focused, consistent and productive in a more dynamic and competent coaching environment than what he's experienced recently.
Cochran is the superior player in every way except height. He shoots better from the field, from three and from the line. He rebounds more, assists more, steals more and turns it over less in the same minutes.

Cochran and Thomas both have the potential to be above average MAC starters. Even in these portal days that's nothing to sneeze at. We hope (but can't yet know) that the team is moving from an atmosphere of mediocrity and excuses to an atmosphere of winning. That could make a significant difference in how these two play.

I didn't see much "team first" from Cochran. Too often he tried to do too much alone. That being said, if coachable, I hope he's back.

He’s a Swiss Army knife so if he stays and wants to buy in it’d be great to have him.

Cochran is an enigma. It some cases he makes the team better in other cases not so much. So are we better with or without him.. JUst my opinion he plays with more effort than anyone

You just put him out there and tell him to play and he gets out of control.
He wants to have the ball and go to the basket, that is his strength, but if we play Sparks in there static it is too crowded.

But yet he shot threes better than Thomas, who took twice as many, and Bumbalough, who shot three times as many.
As I said before, it would be a highly unimaginative coach who couldn't think up a very useful role for Cochran. Whether or not Cochran could be convinced to take the role is the question.
