If the Coach can make the player a team first as opposed to me first I’m all for keeping him. He also needs some attitude adjustments with teammates.

Count me as surprised that here we are in APRIL and somehow we’ve forgotten how our current roster performed. Cochran and Thomas both started nearly every game and played starter minutes. Neither distinguished themselves against MAC competition to even get honorable mention in the league and now we are painting both as something they are not. Really?

These are two guys, both in the 11/5 range of productivity. Nobody is claiming they are Kevin Durant and Oscar Robertson. But I don't think it's hyperventilating to characterize them as "potentially above-average MAC starters" in what we hope is an improved team environment that would work a change in their attitudes. I don't see that things have suddenly become so super wonderful that we can discard such players just yet.
Of course what would be really nice is a Majurus-like tsunami wave of incoming talent that would put both of them on the bench as experienced depth, or even make them entirely superfluous.

Looks like Thomas will go to DePaul or Pitt! Definitely a step up from the MAC!
Evidently these Coaches see potential to help.

Well, Pitt is terrible and DePaul was sub.500. It’d be a step up in competition but not a step up in winning. Wherever Thomas goes he needs to get his head out of his ass. I hope he does.

I might also point out that Thomas and Cochran were key contributors on a team that won the MAC West!
Well, that is a team that WOULD have won the MAC West, if the MAC West had existed and if it had traded Toledo for Miami (Miami actually being located further west than Toledo).
Seems like some people lived through the whole 9 years of Whitford without learning the proper way to look at such things.

Agree re Pitt but DePaul was nearly.500 playing much better competition than us unfortunately and beat MAC opponents by very large margins. In fact, they only lost to Xavier by 1 point. If he goes there it’s a definite step up in competition and a better team than BSU.
I agree Thomas didn’t always play well but he was a good teammate and without him last year in my view we’d have lost a few more games!
I wish him well.

doesn't it seem like our transfers are showing a certain lack of imagination in always going to other MAC schools?

Will they last longer than Walton did transferring to another MAC school. I could certainly see Cochran not being a starter & that might lead to a quick change in his plans.Thomas a little less likely in his last season.
