Agreed, before this spring I would have thought it was going to be more of an open comp. I've heard members of the staff telling alumni they think Paddock is going to rewrite the record book. I swear it's true I heard this |

Heard the comment that this young man might have the best hands of any of current receivers. I'm thinking we may need to find a way to get both he and Hunt on the field together. Maybe the offensive analyst and the new TE coach can drive that. Hard to say now if our lack of using the TE was because none of them were any good in the passing game or they just aren't part of the plan. Sure would be great to open up the middle of the field and take pressure off Jackson and Tyler. |

Tight ends who can catch the ball, maybe in at the same time, a novel idea!
Two big tight ends might suggest run offense and enhance that, but here maybe a threat on any down to use them as receivers off play action.
Tight ends and the whole thread about conversion of Kelly into a WR are ways to make up for perceived lack of depth at receiver.
The idea of a guy who can run or pass lining up as a WR, coming across in motion, or on a reverse, fits with an extra blocker out on the edge. He becomes a true triple threat.

I get the loyalty factor about Plitt last year. That was nice but it cost us some games when Plitt was off is game. I hope Paddock is the real deal but if it turns out that it is obvious the job isn't getting done and we are getting our ass beat because of QB errors/lack of execution then Blazek needs his chance. Loyalty to the extreme this time around could get Neu fired.
