I rather casually follow the Pacers and the NBA in general. It appears the Pacers started out very well and I now look up to see that they have moved back to the middle of the pack. Has there been injuries or some other calamity that I'm not aware of?
I'd hope that there are some Pacer fanatics on here somewhere............Pat? Be honest, don't put an "employee spin" on any response.

Imo it's dysfunction and Paul George wanting to be treated like a superstar but not play like one. I'm also guessing they've tuned Vogel out now.

The Pacers almost always disappoint. I seem to be a fan of every disappointing team in the country these days. A la the Cubs (some hope recently), the Bears, the Colts, and most importantly every Ball State sport. Maybe that's why I have a drinking problem.

I watch every game. George and Myles both went into a major shooting slump in Jan and early Feb.-----both look to be getting over that. Myles Turner is a bonifide outstanding #1 pick by Bird. Since Vogel ditched the small ball scheme and started Turner they have looked better. They all should have a bad taste in their mouth for getting spanked at home going into All-Star break though. The post All-Star schedule is brutal. I don't know what the expectations most had, but mid pack in a much improved East is ok. Lots of basketball to play.

Myles Turner is going to be a *very* good player in the league.

PG hit a wall in his return from injury, lost his legs for about a month and a half as his body tried to remember how to play an 82-game NBA schedule. Unfortunately this coincided with CJ Miles hitting a wall after being forced to play the 4 for the first 2 months of the season, he had no vertical, and no power behind his shot after about mid-December. Vogel has gone back to the traditional 2-big lineup and that seems to have helped CJ as he's starting to get his shot back, and as we saw at the All-Star game, PG seems to finally be back in good form like he was in November.
I like everything I see from Myles, from his intensity, to his outside shot, to his post moves, but he is still a rookie and with that comes rookie mistakes. He swats at shots and lowers his arms way too often still, but that'll be fixed over time. He takes multiple shots a game that he probably shouldn't but that's confidence and a green light, if Vogel didn't want him taking those shots he'd be getting less minutes because of it. He and Joe Young will both be viable pieces for the Pacers for the next few years, I believe.

Best victory of the year tonight in OKC. Ellis and Turner were huge. Turner had six blocks and a key 3-pointer.

I haven't watched many Pacers games lately. They're not bad, but not really good enough to hold my interest.

They're a very middling team right now. The Pacers can beat anyone on any given night but turn around the next night and lose to anyone. They don't have the personnel to play the style that Bird now wants, and got rid of the personnel to play the style they used to, so they're stuck between styles and that just lends itself to zero consistency.

Is it even worth them making the playoffs?

The NBA lost my interest after the "Malice at the Palace". That and the obvious marketing toward the hip-hop crowd, the one-on-one play, the lack of fundamentals, and the unbelievable traveling some players get away just so they can dunk for a SportsCenter highlight.
It's just not relatable for me anymore.

Dang, it was so kind of the Pacers to not show up tonight. That 4th qtr choke in gsme 5 cost them series.
