Isn't it time we all admit the reason he left Stetson had nothing to do with rushed Covid choices or TikTok girl and everything to do with Luke getting schooled in open gyms by Stetson teammates. He isn't D1 talent and never will be. I'm not even sure there is a large role for him in D2.

Lewis might prefer to have ONE main PG play the majority of the minutes. Brown would not fit that profile as a starter. He'd probably be a 10 minute a game back up and he's not going to accept that. he came in expecting to play big minutes and I'm sure expects that to be the case next year. It may have become very apparent based on the workout period the team had with Lewis that Brown just wasn't going to have the role that he wants. So, if Brown leaves, does THAT count as the one time portal freebie? Or, did he use that up with the "hardship" immediate eligibility he got this past season? (which was bungled by pretty much everyone involved) he was a smaller version of Pete Maravich in small school HS basketball, and had the ball all the time.
He was never anything close to Pete Maravich. Good God..................... What he is is a smaller version of Zach Hahn.

Unfortunately, the only players and family members Lewis has met with since he had been here are the portal players that have returned. Maybe he just hasn’t had the time yet, but you would think a new coach would have made that a first priority. Lewis will still do a great job at BSU, he will just have to do it without the 3rd leading school in Indiana high school basketball history. Well, lots of schools have been and will continue to be successful without the 3rd leading scorer in Indiana high school history. And, Indiana high school history is Chock full of players like Brown who never did a thing in college. The 3rd leading in scorer in Indiana high school history couldn’t buy a bucket for us down the stretch this past season. Move on from the small school stats from high school. I find it hard to believe Lewis has only met with 4 players on the team.

There is video of Lewis at practice with the team Bubbalough, Windham etc so he has met the team. No way to tell if he has met there parents but there is no way if a parent reached out to him that he has not made himself available. I can for a fact say he has met Bumbaloughs Dad we talked about it

He was never anything close to Pete Maravich. Good God..................... Of course not, only relative to the competition level, and in comparison to the way he played there. With the ball in his hands and complete freedom to shoot. If he wants to play that way it will not be in D1...

Yes, the team had a number of practices with Coach Lewis. He just hasn’t met individually with players in his office yet like all coaches do at the end of the year for individual meetings. He did meet with players and parents of players that entered the portal and thank goodness they all returned. I don’t have any doubt he will be meeting with the players that did not enter the portal in the near future. It’s not easy being a collegiate coach these days. Just ask Matt Painter, who is still looking for a point guard and just lost his top prospect who played at Kansas State to Miami, Florida.

My take is Whitford promised him something (certain minutes playing time?) that Lewis will not honor. So he is taking his ball and going home.

Yes I think that story has been circulated enough that there is some truth to it. Brown was essentially Whits last hope. When he proved to not to be good enough it was over for both of them

The new coach saw him and saw limited abilities at this level and at the level coach wants to play.

This might be a good time to revisit your evaluation of Luke as the best point guard to come out of Indiana since forever.

What did we learn today, class? That the gap between IHSAA 1A high school basketball and D1 NCAA college basketball is Grand Canyon wide....

This is really getting interesting. Lots of gaps to fill. Hope that portal thing works out.
