I'm thinking Indiana Wesleyan is a prime candidate. Haven't seen anything to think that he might be a problem kid or anything, (in fact I think he has made some faith based statements) it's lower level and close to Blackford.

I mean, IUPUI would probably let him start and play a lot, since they only have like 4 players…

I going to point this out one more time, Gregg Doyle is always wrong about everything.

This is another good example of why it's best to pay attention to the scholarship offers a prospect receives, rather than hype, HS heroics, Greg Doyle, or random fanboy evaluations. Luke Brown got some MAC level offers, but nothing higher, suggesting his ceiling was as a decent MAC player.
I will admit that I thought there was a non-trivial chance he could become one of those players who transcended his limitations through extraordinary skill. But the lack of higher scholarship offers kept my hopes in reasonable check.

Doyle's column on Brown when he transferred in was over the top, even for Doyle (and that's saying something). Between that kind of fawning coverage and the mouth-breathers from Blackford acting like he's Basketball Jesus, if I were him I'd want to go far, far away where absolutely nobody had ever heard of me. Montana. Idaho. Something like that.
He seems like a really nice kid. I hope he can just go somewhere and have fun playing hoops.

I'm afraid he may be fated to become one of the all-time, go to, reference examples of great-HS-player-who-couldn't-make-it-in-college.

Would love to know the back story on this. Did Coach Lewis encourage him to look for another opportunity? If not, was the door left open for Luke to return to BSU if he doesn’t receive an offer to his liking? As Cardfan posted earlier, maybe there is another quality guard on the verge of committing that caused Luke to look elsewhere. As always, time will tell

And yet there are still some IU fanboys saying "should IU go get him?"

I will admit that I thought there was a non-trivial chance he could become one of those players who transcended his limitations through extraordinary skill. But the lack of higher scholarship offers kept my hopes in reasonable check. There will be under the radar recruits, but in this case Luke had so much press and everybody had seen him play. So everybody knew he had limitations, except maybe whoever ran the hype machine in the BSU athletic department...
I never thought anyone on the coaching staff considered him a can't miss prospect. It's one thing for a coach to extol the merit of a recruit, that's ordinary, and anyone that thought the video was Whitford's idea, just look at his lack of overall savvy on PR and the interweb. He used zoom in recruiting but that was one on one and his disinterest in communicating to the general public was evident.
On one hand the video was a slick piece but unless you are doing it for every recruit in some form (maybe not a bad idea) this misguided marketing to pull in the faithful from the General's home county was one of those ideas that looked better to someone than it should have. What could go wrong?
