Who is the best current head coach or manager of any BSU athletic program? I listed them all, including Michael Lewis despite just being hired.

Geez, people. Cruz had a great year with someone else's recruits. He may be all around great and good for the long haul, but he still has a lot to prove.

Sure but the question is who is currently the best. Having a lot to prove still and being the best coach at this moment are not mutually exclusive. |

Women's Tennis won the regular season AND the tournament. Finished 19-5.
Last year went 22-3, won regular season.
4 season titles, 2 MAC tournament titles, 3 NCAA bids.
I don't think it's even close who the best coach is.

If I could vote twice, I'd vote for both vball coaches. Kellie has been great for a good period of time here. Donan was awesome at his last place, and then took a team that was good (but not great) last year and put them in the national championship convo.

Of all the coaches listed, Phillips will be here the shortest time. Unless she just wants to stay, a bigger program will soon make her an offer she can't refuse.

Donan Cruz nearly won Ball State’s first national championship and was the NCAA Division 1 National Coach of the Year. A year ago, he was the NAIA National Coach of the Year and a National Championship coach. Kelli Phillips will replace Dave Shondell at Purdue when he retires. Phillips played for Shondell at Purdue and was Steve Shondell’s assistant at BSU before he retired. The only thing that would keep Phillips from taking the Purdue job is if Purdue Associate Head Coach John Shondell would take the job. All the Shondell’s are the sons of Ball State Hall of Fame coach Don Shondell who recently passed away.
