Is anyone here planning on making the trip down to Knoxville for the game?
If so, I've got a coupl-a questions.
Did you get your tickets through the BSU Ticket office, and if so where are the seats located?
Any ideas about parking? It's a huge stadium and I don't see a ton of lots in the area right around it.
Any pre-game outings that I should know about?

i will be there. I have been to some Tenn games in the past and you might look into parking at Farragut HS. they have numerous shuttles that take you to the stadium. i have done that a few times. parking around the stadium is tough.

Tennessee fan here. I live just outside Knoxville and have been going to games for 50 years so I’ll give you some parking and seating info. There is no on-campus parking without a parking pass but there are surrounding areas where you can pay to park. Fort Sanders, the area north of Cumberland Avenue, (also known as The Strip), will have some private lots and a few garages where you can pay to park. I would anticipate you would pay anywhere from $25-$40 to park. There will also be some garages near the hospital where you will not be allowed to park for the game. There are a couple of shuttle options but I would not recommend parking at Farragut high school as someone below mentioned. That would be a good option if this were a Saturday game but unless it’s running early, and you get here early, I don’t think it’s a good option for a Thursday game. Evening rush-hour traffic is very backed up on I 40/75 so it would probably take an hour to get from Farragut to campus around five or 6:00 PM. A better option is to park at the Civic Colosseum and ride the shuttle from there. It’s just on the other side of downtown from the campus. And it’s even a walkable distance after the game if there’s a long wait for the shuttle. if Ball State fans are having a gathering at Calhoun‘s before the game, I would recommend that. It’s a good restaurant and a great setting. If there’s not a reserved room for you there might be a long wait on a game day though. Regarding your seat locations, yes the visiting fans usually sit in section A. Section A through E, on the East side, is the oldest part of the stadium. Unfortunately. The west side concourses have been renovated and widened in the last decade but the east side, where section A is, has not. It’s very old but maybe just appreciate it for the history and not the comfort. Ha ha. Walk around to the west concourse if you want to get a better more complete picture of Neyland stadium. While on campus there are a few things I would recommend if you have the time. The Torchbearer statue with its eternal flame set at Circle Park, at the top of Peyton Manning Pass (the road that leads directly down to the west side of the stadium). At the bottom of that road is a large statue of General Robert Neyland the man who built our program and as an army engineer designed the beginnings of the stadium that is named after him. Phillip Fulmer Way, the street that goes parallel to the stadium, if you follow it around past the basketball arena, leads to a statue of the late Pat Summitt the legendary coach of the Lady Vols basketball program. The most iconic building location and prettiest part of campus is called The Hill. It’s to the northeast of the stadium and you’ll have to walk up a lot of steps or an inclined street to get there but worth the climb. The Vol Network pregame radio show will be broadcast live from an area right outside gate 21 of the stadium, which is at the base of The Hill. A lot of people like to gather and sit there and watch/ listen. On the other side of the stadium is the Tennessee river where you will see the Vol Navy, made up of the boats of Vol fans who choose to come to the game via the river. One more thing, if you have time, downtown Knoxville is great. Lots of restaurants and breweries. A very walkable city. Start at Market Square and work your way out to Gay Street and the Old City. safe travels. I hope you have a good time.

Another complicating factor with a Thursday night game is that downtown garages which might be available all day on a Saturday will be filled most of the day, with people who park there for work. Look at the maps in the link I posted for parking options.

more gameday info. I do recommend watching the band march into the stadium. They come from across the campus adn then down to just outside the stadium where they will stop and play for a bit. Approx 1.5 hrs before kickoff Vol Village opens 3.5hrs before kick-off with live music, activities for all ages, food trucks, etc. Vol Village is located in a great spot to see the Vol Walk & Band March across from Circle Park. The Vol Walk is 2hrs & 15min before kickoff & the Pride of the Southland Band March is 1hr & 50min before kick. Located outside Gate 9, fans can stop by for food & drinks at Truly's Tailgate, which opens 4hrs prior to kick & remains open through end of 3rd QTR. Be in your seats early to take in an electric pre-game & Opening of the T! Plan a great gameday, visit Gameday Central for ticketing information, activities, clear bag policy, parking & traffic info: utsports.com/sports/2019/7/23/gameday-central.aspxUT facilities have a CLEAR BAG policy. Clear bags no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" are permitted. More on policy: www.UTsports.com/gameday

Nah, we're gonna get railed. Too many question marks, too many new players at key spots, not enough speed. Gonna be 45-10.

Big boy schools always faster, deeper, and bigger.
Not always as well motivated. But we're putting a lot of new players out there, a lot of questions for us, not as many for them. Not seeing what we'd have as an advantage.

I just want us to look somewhat competitive and stay healthy. Hopefully there are some positive signs from some of the newcomers and Paddock exceeds expectations.
