Never underestimate the offensive game plan of a Ball State Lynch. We just might be clicking on all fires 🔥🔥🔥 I’m hoping for some more of those great trick plays. Maybe a fumblerooski to start the game and then throw in a few QB sneaks and basically go for it on 4th down every series. Preparation, perspiration, desperation. It’s got a good slogany ring to it. 😎 |

Hear me out. No depth chart listed in game notes. History suggests Coach Neu sticks with his guys. You’d especially think that in week 2. Is it possible, and I know it is a long shot, there is a big surprise roster adjustment for this game? I’m thinking specifically at QB. I know QB 1 looked adequate at Tennessee but what if Kelly has unique skill set that we wanted to keep hidden from WMU?
Ok, you can proceed to strike this possibility down now. Just seeing if I can stir up some controversy, haha!

I only went to one practice this fall, but Paddock took most all
the snaps for the ones, followed by Blazek with the twos.
I don't see Kelly showing up this week as a surprise starter.

Listen I am Kelly fan number 1. I would love nothing more to see what he can do but I’ve heard nothing about a plan to get him out there. If it happens it’s the best kept secret ploy In the history of Ball State.

Actually thought Paddock played pretty well for the most part considering he was playing against a vastly superior team (that came ready to play) and it was his first real action. This week will provide a better picture.

I fully expect Paddock at QB. I think we will move the ball and score on offense with him at QB. I would like to see Kelly get 1 drive to give us an opportunity to see what he can do, but that will probably come late in the year if at all. Defense is the bigger concern going into WMU game. I’m not sure we have a secret weapon to make an impactful difference on that side of the ball. I expect a shootout.

This game is going to be tough. I think TN is better than Mich State and we would have likely looked a bit better against MSU. Western started Rsfreshman we started Rs 5th year junior their freshman played comperably to our junior what’s that say moving forward

WMU has more talent top to bottom than we do and a much more active and physical defense. Their freshman qb can really move well (bad for us), has a strong arm and looked pretty good vs MSU. I'd certainly say TENN is faster/more athletic than WMU but WMU got those big boys in the trenches. I want to see us looking good on Saturday but it's really hard to project.

Neu should be aware that Kelly will leave if he does not play much this year. It is his decision to make. Could he be digging his own grave if this squad is winning four games this season and he doesn't give Kelly a chance?
